This place is highly recommended. From the time you walk in the door and are greeted and seated by Sally or Ella or Emma to the... bartenders Shannon/Ryan/etc. to Dave the GM...you feel at home! My wife and I sat at the bar. She never knows what to order so she had the bartender surprise her (annoys the heck out of me and... I worried it would annoy him too). However, this was not the case at all! He loved the challenge and asked some questions andmade her an amazing cocktail (and that woman is not always easy to please). We ended have two rounds each and split and app andentree. While people watching all the action of the city through the window. I’m so glad a classy restaurant and bar like thisexists! We will go back every time. I highly recommend you try and sit with Ryan at the bar as he’s a hoot! We had anotherperson one time named Leo (I think) and he was great. The good always delights! After living in Minneapolis for several years I finally made it to Excelsior. The Main Street is cute with a variety of places... to shop and eat. We stopped in at the Coalition and ate at the bar and were very pleased. I got the fried chicken sandwich andloved it. Can’t remember what others got but I remember them liking it. The nicest thing was that I forgot my purse there andsomeone from the restaurant came to find me at the store next door to let me know I left it. When I tried to give a bigger tipto thank them the bartender Ryan refused it. Great people, great food, and great service! Read more
Besides having the best food around, the people of Coalition treat me like family. Good food is really important to me, but... when you are made to feel welcome and greeted by people that have become friends it really makes it a different experience. Dinner is always great, but check out the social hour or come in for brunch and try the breakfast enchiladas (scrambled). Read more
Excellent menu options and local tap beers. The burger will not disappoint! The Key Lime Pie is silky and not too sweet.
I was introduced to this place fir lunch by my friend that lives in the Twin Cities. It was the first time for the both of us.... Because we’ve never been there before, we didn’t want to just try two dishes. Instead, we ordered 6 appetizers, some ofwhich our server had recommended. They were all amazing but the cauliflower is a MUST try! A cool laidback atmosphere withamazing food and service. Definitely recommend. Read more
The atmosphere is nice. Our waitress was sweet. However, I ordered a bison burger done medium and it was incredibly overcooked.... Very dry and lacking flavor. The food was absolutely not worth $18. Read more
