Staff is friendly and responds quickly if you need assistance. The atmosphere is charming. Our room was upgraded to a lovely... suite. The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. We enjoyed a couple's massage and 2 hours in thespa (grotto). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will go back. The ghost tour is a must. Jay has so many interesting stories. The ghosts were kind to us.???????? Read more

So bummed after all the hype. The hotel is beautiful and recently had a facelift I heard from a bartender. The staff was mostly... great. The spa was AWESOME-no complaints there. What was disappointing was the restaurant and overall cleanliness of the room.We got a super spacious suite which was much nicer compared to the first room we were in which felt a little claustrophobic butI know hotel rooms weren?t super big back then when it was built. BUT there was urine all over the toilet, the sheets had ripsin them and two pillow cases had BLOOD on them! When I requested new bedding from housekeeping it took over and hour (this wasat 1030 at night when I was about to go to bed). When she arrived with the bedding I explained the blood and she said sometimesit just doesn?t come out. What?! There was also many dusty corners on counter tops and and the carpet needed a major cleaning. Iusually don?t complain but for the nightly price I don?t think it?s asking too much. Speaking of price...the restaurant was sooverpriced! The quality and quantity of food is not worth the prices they charge. The breakfast buffet was reasonable but I?dlook for lunch and dinner elsewhere. Take the paranormal tour! Jay was awesome and really knew his history. I?ll probably comeback because the spa is so awesome but will be better prepared next time. Read more

When we arrived we had high hopes. Upon checking into our room, we found massive spider webs in the window sills along with... spider eggs. We asked the front desk staff if they could take care of it and a manager assured us she would tend to it herself. We then went to the Three Owls restaurant for our reservation and were told that we would need to wait 20-30 minutes. Over 30minutes later, we were taken to our table outside with no option to sit inside. We had to ask for a candle to be lit so we couldread our menus. The food was fine for the price. When we got back to our room there was yet another, massive, wolf spiderclimbing up the curtains. To make matters worse, we found a bed bug on our duvet. At that point, we called the front desk andwere relocated to a room on the next level up and offered one $25 voucher for their breakfast/lunch restaurant for our trouble?the staff member helping us was quite dismissive of the gravity of the bed bug issue? perhaps it was because it was almost 1 am,but I would have appreciated a bit more urgency. Our spa treatment redeemed our weekend. We did a 45 minute treatment in thedetox suite and really enjoyed it. The grotto is lovely and is a great addition to your spa experience. All in all, this staywas NOT worth the price OR the drive from Kansas City, especially with the utter lack of anything to do in the city off of thehotel grounds. Read more

Honestly enjoyed the food and the massage. I felt for the price, things should have been nicer. The room was just basic... nothing special. The view was terrible because it over looks a roof that's pretty ugly. The grotto was ok. The hot tubsmelled like mildew/mold. The staff were all very nice. At times I felt the staff didn't quite know what was going on. Weretold to wear yellow bands at pool, we were the only ones wearing them. So we took them off. (That's just one example). Again, because the price is pretty expensive I give this place 3 stars. It was fun but no need to ever go back. Read more

I went for a massage and it was so amazing and relaxing. I loved every minute of my time at the Elms. The grotto was super... relaxing, I even fell asleep on my chair drying off! The staff there is super friendly and helpful, Justin was my massagetherapist and he was very nice and provided a wonderful massage! I definitely recommend visiting this spa. Read more
