Great food and service. Would have been a five-star except the fact that I'm in a wheelchair and they're accessible entrance is... funky. When I got to the top of the ramp the door was locked. After having the unlocked, the door was hung in the oppositedirection to the room entrance so I had to do a 15-point turn to get around the door and through the doorway. Would be fairlyeasily resolved by moving the door hinges and swinging the door the opposite direction. Read more
We ate at this restaurant two days in a row. Our waitress was brand new, but very sweet. Unfortunately, both days our orders... were incorrect. Not sure if it was because of the new waitress or mistakes from the kitchen. We didn't want to complain. She wasdoing her best. We did not like how everything was charged a la carte. You have to read the menu very carefully. Cheese does notautomatically come on a western omelette, for example. Toast is not included, either. To go boxes cost extra money, too. Verystrange. Had high hopes for this out-of-the-way cafe. Very disappointed. The place has only 10 or so tables. Should be easy for the... kitchen to keep up. Our party of 2 waited an hour after sitting for food. Server said there were many tickets for take out aheadof us. Given the wait we seated diners experienced, I see why. Take out orders take preference over sit down customers I guess.Hardware omelette was bland. Coffee was lukewarm. Toast was cold and buttered only in the middle of each slice. We absolutely love this place. If you are camping in the area, you must stop and grab breakfast. Excellent food. Incredible and... accommodating staff. Outdoor seating. Good coffee. Our kids are picky eaters, but the homefries were loved by everyone (even ifwe can't stop to eat, we grab homefries and coffee to go!) Read more
I love the Hardware Cafe!!!?great country cooking?.a warm inviting atmosphere?..interesting items for sale, and cooks, servers ... and owners who want us to have a great experience. I know there is a shortage of cooks and wait staff all over our area so I'mthankful that the Hardware Cafe, and other restaurants in this town ,successfully survived Covid 's impact and didn't have toshut down. I don't mind if I sometimes have to wait a little longer for a meal, due to staff shortages, and I want to takethis opportunity to thank the owners and the current staff for showing up and being there for us, every day , with a smile. Part of the experience of traveling by an electric motorcycle is the time you have to explore while you?re charging. This place... was recommended by a man who stopped to ask about the bike. It is a great place to have a smoothie, coffee, or a nice lightmeal. Read more
Great find, delicious sandwiches, wonderful housemade desserts, great beverage menu. Staff was wonderful. They carry Finger... Lakes Coffee which was a nice surprise, not easy for us to find! Will be back! Read more
Very unfortunate what this restaurant has turned into. Beautiful restaurant on Main Street that has a lot of potential. I never... want to blame the young staff, poor service starts with the owners. This morning I was one of two tables in the restaurant. Itwas not a busy morning. My breakfast took almost an hour to come out. I asked for a sausage egg and cheese sandwich. It came outwithout an egg. And when I asked for an egg I was treated with disrespect. My coffee wasn?t filled, my table wasn?t cleared.Again not complaining about the staff they just need training. The owners clearly need to put more effort into managing thisrestaurant so that people can enjoy it. We have been to the Hardware Cafe countless times and it has been a poor experienceevery time, but for some reason we want to go back thinking it will change.
