The entrance to this place is through an unique old gold mine tunnel! Once you're in, you're greeted by a bunch of stalls and a... large dining room. The food was indeed very appetizing, we had a salmon and a cod basket. Plus they were selling the mostamazing Sangria as well. The potentially sad part is that they are not operational all through the year, and are done for thisseason. Read more

We bought this as an excursion from Holland America, and initially we were concerned. The same and bake business had contracted... with various buses to pick up the patrons from their hotel and at the end of the evening return them safely. When we arrived, our guide took us through the front door which is a re-creation of one of the local mines. he took us to the entry point wherewe gave them our last name, they looked us up, asked us for protein order, dessert order, gave us the appropriate informationand sent us in the direction of drinks and salads. They also took our cell phone number and when our protein orders were ready, they sent us a text!! Very cool use of technology! We gathered our salads, our drinks, silverware, and headed to the dininghall. There was music playing throughout the property, 70s and 80s, and everyone seem to be having a great time! They had alarge outdoor grill area where they were cooking the salmon and steaks. As we were finishing up our salads, I got a text thatour protein was ready! We went up told him who we were, they pulled out a couple plates, ask us what sides we wanted, or choiceswere baked beans, roasted potatoes, and macaroni and cheese. Once they loaded our plates with our selections, they sent us tothe right where a grill master placed our protein on the plate! The whole process was very efficient, very quaint, and I thinkeverybody was enjoying themselves. Last but not least was our dessert, same process went to a separate little building, toldthem our name, and we had our choice of six or seven different selections including cheesecake and ice cream. What fun! Read more

Experience was really cool. There are some definite downsides, the sides were cold and the main dishes were flavorless. It... wasn't bad but it is worth about half what you pay at best. Bus after bus after bus of tourists were dropped off. Read more

Halibut Did not taste like Halibut, halibut was a see-through color and not the white of cooked Halibut. Maybe old? Frozen too... long? No taste. Mac and cheese wasnt fresh and had been sitting too long, potatoes burned and no flavor. Now the desert( notpoctured had been sitting uncovered WAY WAY too long. Completely dried out! The premixed drink was ok, wine was cheap and tastedlike it sat out and soured. My first time here, ive lived here 11 years and im completely disappointed in the lack of pride intheir food. NOT worth the huge amount we spent on our family of 10 to treat them!! Read more

Presentation looked good, the drinks and options were fine, but the salmon was disappointing. Felt like a tourist trap since it... was sweetened for no reason. Read more

Peach margaritas were fantastic! We ordered two of the Mother Lodes and split it between 4 people (2 adults, 2 young teens) and... it was plenty of food. Salmon was everyone's favorite part. Read more

A must stop place if you are a tourist and find yourself in Fairbanks. Decent food and plenty of it, in a picnic setting. ... Cafeteria style service with Carving Stations, Lots of variety on the menu. Friendly staff, with the added benefit that thereare not a lot of bugs. There are tables scattered about in the Pines as well as indoor dining halls. You can always find aplace to sit and eat. We've been twice on two different trips and we'd not hesitate to go again.
