My wife and I came here for lunch. We started with the chili cheese fry appetizer, it was awesome. She got the club sandwich and... it was huge, was told delicious. I got the patty melt and that sandwich was also pretty large, it was definitely amazing. Ihighly recommend this place. We also got some of the sweets, I have yet to try those yet. Read more

Outstanding breakfast spot. They also serve lunch and dinner. For breakfast try the chicken fried steak. I had the traditional... cube steak but they also use prime rib. Breading was crispy to the last bite. Gravy was tasty and not overpowering. Hashedbrowns were cooked perfectly! Highly recommend this spot. Wish I tried the cinnamon rolls! Read more

Absolutely delicious!! I tried the corned beef hash and it was nice and meaty, good serving size, and not too salty at all! We... also ordered the biscuits which were sky-high and yummy, as well as the reindeer sausage special! The sausage was amazing!Overall 10/10! Read more

Can’t give 4.5 or I would have. The food and service were very good. My wife got the stuffed Nolan. It looked and tasted... great. I got the Hungry Joe with waffle, and sausage. All cooked perfect. I’m picky about sausage, and this was good. Alittle pricy for breakfast, but hey it’s Alaska, and we’re in vacation, so we expected it. Read more

Alaska isn't really the place for eating light, based on our recent experiences. On our last day, we had a late lunch at The... Cookie Jar due to how enticing the pictures of their food are. The taxi ride here didn't take long, nor did it take long to getseated, even though the place looked very busy. But, after getting seated and getting served coffee, it took another hour toreceive our food. Our taxi driver did give us fair warning that service here takes a while. Luckily we had ample time thatday. $18.99 Country Fried Steak - prime rib, lightly breaded and fried, covered with sausage gravy, with 2 large eggs: I dolike country fried steak but I've never had it made with prime rib before. This was massive. Of course I finished it, but Icouldn't finish the enormous biscuit that came with it. This is the thickest cut of country fried steak I have ever had, toppedwith thick gravy. Within the fried crunchy breading was some juicy meat. I tried some of the biscuit, but it is on the denseside. $15.99 Corned Beef Hash - corned beef cooked and diced, with hashbrown potatoes, grilled onions, 2 eggs: Another massivemeaty dish with juicy, fatty brisket, which was a bit on the salty side, as corned beef hash tends to be, and crisp shreddedpotatoes. $14.99 Stuffed Nolan's - cream cheese stuffed cinnamon roll, grilled and topped with berry compote and whipped cream, with bacon: I would never even think to batter and fry a cinnamon roll, let alone stuff it with cream cheese, and top it withberry compote and whipped cream, AND serve it with a side of bacon. This was such a delicious dessert. It sounds heart stoppingand if you can handle that, it is worth the calories. This was probably our best, and most memorable meal in Fairbanks. TheCookie Jar is so picturesque. Come here if you are ready to eat good. Read more

We wanted to like this more given so many high reviews but we did have issues. Both our items were recommended as some of their... most popular choices. Husband ordered the prime rib chicken fried steak w/a biscuit. It looked great. Sadly, the gristle was nottrimmed off so he battled that rather than enjoy what should've been a melt in your mouth fattening experience. The biscuitswere nice and tall but by the time extra gravy was delivered for them, he was done. I ordered the corn beef hash. It was OK.Honestly I was expecting more hash. The corned beef was cubed at maybe 1/2", there was some onion but the rest was just a bunchof greasy hash browns-tasty, but greasy. Enough so that I'm worried about the drive through Denali. I ordered a 3rdegg. Waitstaff was super friendly and bonus of serving real cream for coffee vs pods. Read more
