Food was great. It would get 5-stars but..: Dining area was too loud, ear-damaging loud. The space needs to be tuned. When... shouting and yelling are necessary to order I would think that would be an obvious sign. Service was confusing: Staff in hurryto clear glasses and plates which weren?t empty. After ordering first round of drinks and appetizers our menus were confiscated.After we weren?t sure if the kitchen was still open or not. Despite the above, cocktails, food and wine were great. Needed a place to hit up during our stay in Cali. Since we had an Air BnB in Fairfax we seen this spot that had oysters ????... that we been dying for. They did not disappoint! We ended up coming here twice during our trip and pretty much got the samething for food (oysters and fries) and just mixed it up with the drinks. The staff is great and everything was superb! Thevinegar/wine sauce for the oysters was absolutely on point! Fries were fresh and great! The ambiance is nice and chill! Woulddefinitely come back if we are in the area and would absolutely recommend. I think we ended up getting 4 dozen oysters betweenboth trips! Worth it! Summer in the area every year and I make sure I hit this joint with my wife and two kids every time. Great food interesting... drink choices and great service. Our waitress even asked the people next to us to control their children before I had to do itand make a scene. Can?t discipline your children in a restaurant leave them home. Anyway nothing but good things to say aboutthe place. In the area, give it a try. Read more
Get the fries and aioli! Ok a perfect drink spot. Lots of amazing cocktails and draft beer. Excellent service. A pretty good... food spot. Here?s the thing, the food is amazing and super high quality, it?s just really expensive. I understand why that is,i can tell the ingredients are top notch and made with care. My only suggestion would be to match the more casual vibe of therestaurant with the menu. Maybe offer some variety in menu items? Include fries with the burgers? Don?t charge extra for aioli?!Kinda absurd but it?s more just my expectation as usually restaurants would not charge extra and would include more than 3homemade super high quality pickles. All in all, it?s a quality over quantity thing so I can respect that. I just don?t thinkthat?s my vibe. Read more
Great cocktail menu. Really captures the feel of California mountains with a cocktail named "In the Pines" and countless others... all made with care by their bartenders. The food menu is quite good too. The chicken sandwich was delicious, tasted quiteupscale but maybe misses some of the crunch of others of the same type. Definitely not complaining, it was great! One thingthat was odd is that the order kind of came out in reverse order of what I'd expect. We got two dishes, fries and oysters. So itcame out, fries, the dishes, then the oysters. Not my first time stopping here. This honestly was the perfect spot to stop after hiking Alamere falls. Everyone in our party... of 5 was happy with the food and the staff. I had Hearts Desire and 3 shrimp tacos. Aside from the food being amazing let metell you about the bar tender. She was seriously the best.... not only does she make a good drink but she shared with us herchocolate & carrot cake that she received as a gift from a local fire fighter. Lovely spot at the edge of downtown Fairfax. We had a group of 6 on a busy Sunday afternoon. The host was welcoming and... accommodating and they accurately estimated the time to be seated. Our waitress recommended their chicken sandwich and fishtacos and both were tasty! We also ordered Bahn Mi tacos to share from the "small plates" menu and it was a yummy surprise aswell! Their beer menu didn't disappoint either and seemed to have a balanced variety of beers to cater for different beerlover! Read more
What a fantastic find! We loved our dinner at Stillwater. The Negroni service is very fun for Negroni fans. (We even got one to... go.) The chicken sandwich is delicious and so are the fries. My partner had the cod and loved it. Can?t wait to come back! Read more
