The restaurant was short staffed, an you realized it when you walked in the door, watch your attitudes if you dine. Be prepared,... you?re gonna be waiting for an available hand, I work food service so I understood completely. I am letting everyone and including the Famous Dave in Hayward to know I order my platter for 2 yesterday and I got food... poisoning in Fairfield, ca. They don?t care about us as consumer and not just my review but other customers is leaving the samescenario. The coleslaw was never in the fridge nor they threw it away. The purple coleslaw would dye with a redness liquidmayonnaise as you can tell it was a day or two day old sitting outside. The one in Hayward always amaze me but the one inFairfield?it was food poisoning. I am calling the food poisoning and soon they will contact the franchise owner. I felt dizzyingall day and my leg is weak in which I am still in bed since this morning. It smell and I didn?t know but ate a small portion andnow I am really sick. Read more
The brisket sandwich was poor. It was the texture of chip chop ham, and the meat was very fatty. The BBQ sauce was perfectly... average, and the bun was a bun. Could have been elevated a bit for the price. The side of fries was generous in size, but theyare the thick, mushy wedge style. Not my thing, but they were good for what they are. The slaw is nice. Not too sweet, and thepepper really came through for a small amount of warmth. Probably the best part of the meal. Read more
First of all I discovered famous Dave's at Walmart in the pickle section and they have these sweet and spicy pickles that are... absolutely delicious. I could stand in front of the fridge and eat half a jar. Then I discovered their barbecue sauce whichcomes in like a quart size jar and it is amazing. It was a restaurant when we were driving across Wyoming this summer and I sawa roadside for famous Dave's. We just eaten so we didn't stop. When I got home I googled it to see if there were any by us andthe closest one is Fairfield which is like 45 minutes away. So is down in the bay today and on the way home I went to go tofamous Dave's and to get dinner. So I googled it and got the directions and it was like within the gateway shopping center offof Travis boulevard now the Google listing didn't indicate that it was inside Johnny carino's. I am a drill through the parkand I didn't see any places with signage. I spent entirely too much time trying to find the place and then I looked at the menuand the one side is like family meals and then the other side was individual meals. In my mind the menu was a little light andpricey and I ended up walking out and not ordering anything because I was not impressed. Read more
Ordered to go and they were friendly and got the order right. They are inside a Johnny Carinos and I don't think they have a... real bbq set up with a smoker, which is essential for good bbq. The wings were cold. The brisket was not good, it tasted like itwas cooked in an oven with no smokey flavor and cooked within the last few days or so. The ribs tasted fine and had a goodsauce, probably oven cooked though. I can't say I will choose this place again. Read more
Johnny Carino's used to be a great place to go, but it seems it has gone down quite a bit. What help there is seems to be doing... double or triple duty so there is a long wait for service. Prices have gone up quite a bit and some portions are smaller. Thelast couple times there I haven't seen more than 8-10 inside. The food is still good and enjoyable. Read more
