Excellent sandwiches and healthy choices on the menu.
My fiancé stopped here on his lunch break today. What started as a quick bite to eat in between work stops as a mechanic... turned into harassment and unkind customer service. He was in his work uniform, and as most individuals who work around oil andgrease and dirt, his work uniform was dirty. He was asked how long he was going to stay to eat and then told that he needed toleave because he was dirty and smelled of oil. Never in a million years should he have been approached in that manner. It?sobvious and very unfortunate that this business does not support blue collar workers and has no respect for paying customerswho are just trying to get through the day. Read more

This weekend I?m moving out of Fairfield, and I say with confidence that I will miss Firehouse Deli the most (and will visit as... frequently as reasonably possible). Great food, kind and friendly people, excellent, fast service (even in strange times ofCovid), and pickles... I hear the salads are amazing too (says my mother-in-law). I have two favorites on the menu that Iprobably shouldn?t get EVERY time, but then again, eat what you love. For breakfast, it?s the Alex?s Breakfast Panini, and forlunch, it?s the Harlem Shuffle. Truly, every sandwich is delicious. They aren?t just slapping deli meat onto dry rolls andsprinkling some salt and pepper. These are delicious creations, with the right combinations of sauces, veggies, meats, andcheese to excite the tastebuds. Everyone looks happy here, and I never leave hungry... not stuffed either, but just right. Topit off with some pickles and call it a day. We recommend a lot of great places in Fairfield to friends for food, but usuallythe conversation starts with ?have we taken you to firehouse deli yet?? If Firehouse reads this, just wanted to say thanks forbeing that go-to place that so many people long for when they move to somewhere new. Great sandwiches and salad bar are their staple. Over the years they have fine tuned their interior and even exterior patio area... to make it more accommodating to a large amount of people. Not the best egg and cheese, used to be better. Very clearly understaffed and unorganized. Took 25 minutes to complete my order... of two items. Very hard to order here, poor system. But great food. Just need more help. Read more
