Came here because of all of the gluten free options marked on the online menu. Arrived to see only a few sides on the menu... marked gluten free. I was incredibly disappointed and was only able to get a hamburger patty with cheese, no bun. As someonewith celiac disease finding restaurants is hard enough without misleading menu information. Delicious BBQ! Wife got the pulled pork sandwich and really enjoyed it. I got the pulled pork nachos which were good. Basically... just pulled pork and cheese sauce. Would have been even better with some traditional nacho toppings like onion and tomato. Butthe hero was definitely the pork. Flavorful and juicy. I added some XX sauce that was super spicy and tasty. Neat little restaurant downtown Fairfield. Great service and food was very good! BBQ fries with chicken was awesome. Big... portions and cooked fast too. Staff was friendly and was very gracious when we came in late shortly before they closed. I willbe back! Read more
Absolutely phenomenal smokehouse barbeque. The ribs are to die for, but they only serve them on weekends, so be sure to order... the burnt ends instead. They were out of smoked turkey that day, too. I would've loved to try that. The pulled pork, brisket,& chicken are also amazing. Everything is fresh, made right there in house, even their 8+ amazing sauces which you will want tosample all of. If you're passing through Fairfield, or visiting the American Gothic House, definitely stop in and get some ofthis mouthwatering barbeque! Read more
This place was really great! Great customer service, great food, chill atmosphere. Do yourself a favor and go tonight. All... the sauces were fun to try, I like the XX spicier one the best. I ???? BBQ and this is hands down the BEST BBQ I've ever had in my life! I would drive the 8 hrs from Ohio back to iowa to eat... it again! It was simply amazing. Pretty meh would be an accurate experience I?d reckon. Fairly unfriendly FOH employee, food was uninspired to say the least.... Stale bun, chewy burger (though flavourful), and maybe it?s just me but whenever I ask for mayo on a burger and I?m paying $9for it, I?d rather it not be a gas station ?to-go? packet. Honestly if you were to have me blind test the difference betweenthis and Casey?s I?d be hard pressed. Mac ?n cheese stodgy but also flavourful but boring.
