TERRIBLE SERVICE!… we were a party of 4, my friend ordered a drink & did not like it, the bartenders response was you opened... it you buy it! Like what??? I’ve never in my life has had someone tell me you have to pay for something that was not good! Wewaited almost an hour for the chef to come out, he made all the food separately which caused everyone to eat a little at a timeuntil the additional sides were completed. The waitress put our apps in separately, so all of us ate at different momentsinstead of together. She was rushing us and was not the friendliest. Not a great experience for $220. I would not recommend orreturn, especially because there’s so many better options of hibachi around! Don’t forget people you’re still inhospitality, a little kindness goes a long way! Read more

My friends and I, group of 5, came here for dinner. We had reservations at 8pm. Didn't get to sit down at the hibachi table... until 8:40. The Maitre d' was a no show, saw him running around doing a lot other other people's work, I even saw him pulling akeg on a cart to the bar. The phone was constantly ringing, but no one to answer the phone or tell all the different groups howlong the wait will be. We sat for another 15 minutes before our waitress came over. We didn't get our appetizers, the othergroup of 5 people did. We didn't see our hibachi chef until 10 minutes after the other party of 5 finished their appetizers. Ihad to get other waitresses attention to get our waitress to come over and even then she would only stay long enough to hear 1person order a drink (water) and then disappear for 10 minutes. She also would not split the check in the beginning or at theend, so after we paid and left we had to figure it out ourselves. I would fire this waitress for horrible service. The chef wasamazing and entertaining. He made us happy and provided us with great entertainment while cooking our food. I would give thechef 5 stars. Maitre d' 3 stars. (He was working other peoples job) Waitress 1 star. Read more

I was craving a hibachi cooked meal so i stopped in for lunch by myself. I was seated promptly upon arrival in an appropriately... sized booth (not the Hibachi table but that was fine, I was only there for the food not the show.) I ordered the chickenhibachi meal, it was served promptly and it was delicious. The ginger salad dressing is as good as anywhere else in the area, aswere the sauces served with the meal. I will not hesitate to go here for lunch again in the future. Read more

There was a clear difference in the food from my first visit to Nikko almost 2 years ago versus this past week. The portions... used to be bigger (don't get me wrong, it's plenty to be full) and the prices have gone up then what is listed on their menu andwebsite. The service was good but it's also because we visited early dinner on a weekday. I was reallly excited to be back herebut was a little disappointed. I don't feel the flavors were the same and I ended up with a stomach ache after. I will belooking for another go-to hibachi spot now. Read more

A few friends and I visited another friend at Kessler in West Orange. I thought let's make it a day and have dinner afterwards.... We decided on Hibachi. We found Nikko's and made reservations for 3 at 6:30pm. We arrived on time and were asked to wait a fewminutes by a polite gentleman that I believe was the host. After a few minutes he led us to our table. A woman came after awhile and took our drink orders and returned to give everyone a salad and soup. They were both tasty, especially the the salad(great dressing). Our drinks were served, I had a Vodka Soda and 1 of my friends had a glass of Chardonnay (which she enjoyed),the other settled for Ginger Ale. We were chatting and enjoying each other's company and then we noticed that we had beensitting for an hour and an itamae hadn't come out yet. 10 minutes later he arrives (don't skip lunch, like I did) and startsentertaining (cooking). The food was delicious. I ordered the steak and shrimp combo and my friends ordered lobster tail andshrimp combo. I gave 4 stars because we waited for so long and the person taking our drink order didn't check to see if anyonewanted another drink. Read more

The hibachi chef that we had both times that I visited was good, there has never been anyone actually waiting at the front desk... both times that I visited. We had to stand around and wait for someone to come both times. It would be nice to be greeted andchecked in for seating upon arrival. The food is OK though. They could do a little more to the noodles and the rice, but it’sa cool place to take the family. Read more

Place is clean, staff efficient and unobtrusive. Offers seating at the bar, or full fledged hibachi experience. I had fishbowl... cocktail - pretty good, not to strong. Good got special occasion - birthday, graduation, etc. Read more
