I visited on a Monday evening on my way back home after remembering how I enjoyed their sister restaurant Bear Branch Tavern.... Parking can be challenging in this area, so walking a block or so can be expected. The inside struck me as quite dark even for atavern (one person next to me had to use his phone light to read the menu). The barkeep greeted me promptly and was largelyattentive. Food arrived at mostly appropriate times. I started with grilled wings followed by the blackened mahi-mahi sandwichfollowed by a burger with fries and ending with key lime pie. The wings had good flavor and well cooked meat, but the amount ofchar seemed somewhat excessive especially towards the last couple. The mahi sandwich had an indescribable taste that feltneither good nor bad to me. Both the cole slaw and side salad were fresh tasting. My request for a burger medium rare without abun had the correct temperature but seemed a little salty to me. The fries tasted inconsistent, as some of my waffle fries feltwarm and appealing and others were more room temperature and even stale. I liked the key lime pie itself with a balanced tartflavor and a crust that broke easy with my spoon. As minor points, the diced mango garnish seemed unripe and the mango couliscould have been more generous compared to what shows on the menu. The total bill amounted to a little under $65 excluding taxand tip. I think other menu items could lure me back for another visit and maybe experience more consistency in the cooking. Read more
We met friends for an early dinner. The food was good as well as the on tap beverages. I had a cider that was delicious and... ordered two appetizers from the seafood specials; one was clams and the other mussels. Both were good. My wife had a craft beerand fish tacos. She enjoyed both. It wasn't too crowded when we arrived, which made it a good meeting place for conversation. Read more
I love this place. They have the best Huevos Rancheros for brunch that I've had. The food is delicious and it comes out... unbelievably fast. They have multiple outdoor areas to sit in. Probably more seating outside than in. There's a nice long barinside with lots of beers on tap. Say hi to their great bartender Amber. She's a riot. Read more
The Cajun pasta was excellent 5/5. The salmon was good 3.75/5. The strawberry shortcake was good, like something you could get... at a food court 3/5. Portions were fair, but not generous. Prices were a little high, but not bad. Read more

Not too bad of a walk from the hotel. I looked at their menu online and saw the Cajun food Chasin' Tails had removed from... theirs. Nice ambiance. Opened with the Dogwood Spring Rolls, quite a Cajun bend on a eastern appetizer. I went for the Jambalayawith added grilled shrimp for my meal. Moderately spicy and very tasty. I finished with one of their dessert offerings. I wasfull when I left and walked some of it off on the way back. Read more
Atmosphere Great. Customer Service Professional but a bit slow. Food was very good. Our group had shrimps, jambalaya, chicken... wings, shrimp quesadilla, and Dogwood Eggrolls. For the price food was on spot. I want to try all the above foods sinceeveryone indicated their plates were good. RETURN FACTOR 100 RECOMMEND A FRIEND FACTOR 100% Just be very careful where youpark. I recently started going to Dogwood Tavern after the Dogfish Head in Falls Church closed. I was looking for a low key brew pub... with a good beer selection, friendly staff and good burgers. The owner has done a great job keeping Dogwood Tavern warm andinviting. The staff is friendly, the beer selection is good and the food is decent. My son loves the burgers and waffle fries.It would be nice if they had a burger option on the kids menu. On Tuesday night they have raw bar items and the mussels andshrimp are great. On my last visit I had the shrimp and grits and I would not recommend that dish. The grits were not creamy andthe sauce was overpowered with hot sauce. I would recommend giving Dogwood Tavern a try.
