I just walked out from Kamayan restaurant and am confused with the charges on my bill. I am a foodie and have tried numerous... restaurants before but have never been charged an extra tax on meal. believe the State of Va. tax rate is no more than 6% butthis restaurant charged an extra tax for non-cash credit which was 14% of my total bill. We only ordered desserts and a bottleof water. I googled it and 4% tax rate is applicable on meal tax that is applicable to customers. I should not have beencharged for this additional tax just because I used a credit card. Also their foods were different than pictures. Read more

I heard some good reviews about this filipino food location that replaced Milagro?s. After a bit of googling, I saw that it was... a hot food bar. Okay! I can run in real quick and order stuff. First, there?s no menu. The screen above was off. Second, thehot food bar had no labels. I just read some reviews and this was a problem even 8 months ago. I guess they never fixed theproblem. I had to ask how to order food, the person said they can do a combo or a platter. I had no idea what any of the foodwas, so I went on basically her recommendations. I got pork adobo, fried fish, and a chicken soup. The chicken soup wad sobland, I had to throw it out honestly. The pork adobo was okay, it reminds me of Thit Kho (vietnamese). It was kinda mediocrethough. I got a separate order of lumpia, and they didn?t taste that great. I got some sort of fried fish that was pretty dry,but it tasted like Viet salty fish. I kinda liked that, even if it may not have been what they were going for. With 2 cans ofsoda, and these 2 orders, and all the taxes and credit card fees and tip, it was $32! I shoulda gone to the deli at GoodFortune at Eden.I hate to bash a small business, but if they haven?t changed anything from the same criticisms from 8 monthsago, then it?s just not gonna work. I ate here today. Mom and pop restaurant serving Philipino food. The food was really good. 2 item combo meal is $10.99. I had 2... pork items. I enjoyed my food as a takeout meal. What I was disappointed with: very small, virtually no dining area; no sodafountain so you have to buy a bottle or can of something if you dine in; the merchant charges you extra for paying with plasticinstead of cash, which is a very cheap and short sided business practice, this is a cost of doing business that all businessesmust pay, merchants used to be not allowed to do this until 2015 or 2017 when Visa Mastercard were forced to changed theirbusiness rules due to a court ruling, nonetheless only a very cheap non business savvy individual would do this, 99%+ of allbusinesses do NOT do this... However, I still like the food and recommend it for takeout. On weekends they have even more dishesavailable that they do not offer on weekdays, they sell out fast due to family orders, suggest get here before 1 PM on Saturdaysand Sundays! The weekend options are fantastic! I have eaten here a few times and it has become one of my favorite ethnic spotsfor food! The food here is excellent. Read more

It?s our first time in this restaurant and honestly it wasn?t what we expected. Food took long, staff were always fighting and... it looks like they?re understaffed, space was very tight and small. The food was average for Filipino food, which isn?t at allbad. It was kinda a hit or miss. We definitely did not enjoy eating here. You can hear the staff shouting at each other and youcan pretty much see that they do not want to be there. As much as I hate to bring my fellow Filipinos down, I do not recommendthis place. It is very hot, the AC is pretty much non-existent and the space is super small. If you?re eating alone and goodwith waiting for your food for a very long time, go ahead and disregard my review. Do not go in large groups. You will not havespace to sit down at all. They also charged us wrong in our receipt. We did not bother to come up again because the cashier wasnot kind. I am Filipino and I?ve been to other Filipino restaurants in different states and I do think this is the worst oneI?ve been to so far. So if you?re looking for some Filipino food, save yourself some time and money and eat somewhere else. Read more

The staff and service here are really great - saved the review. Really pleasant. Unfortunately, the food is mediocre. We usually... head to Maryland for good Filipino food, but this was conveniently near us. All the food is oily - soup, adobo, curry -everything came with a thick layer of oil on top. Wasn't used to seeing that. The lechon was dry and the skin was rock hard -couldn't chew through it. The lumpia wasn't fried evenly (some areas more browned while other areas were still pale). Theportions were indeed smaller than what we're used to seeing. We would be back in a pinch, but would not seek this out. Read more

Phenomenal Filipino food! We had the chicken adobo, pork stew and beef tapa with garlic rice. They have some desserts, snack... foods and tasty drinks from the Phillipines too. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely will be back! Read more

Very nice and cute little place for some good Philippine food! The only downsides are that the foods on the hot bar were not... labeled so I had to ask what each item was, my rice seemed a bit undercooked, and I think they should get rid of all or most ofthe sodas in favor of more Philippine drinks. Otherwise the food was good, the prices are reasonable, and the people there arevery nice! Good and cute place overall? Read more

This is my first time trying this place, and I absolutely loved it. From their friendly staff, large menu options, generous... portions for the price, and most importantly their delicious food. I got a duo platter which comes with rice and two entrees. The food there doesn't have any labels, and since I'm not too familiar with Filipino food, I asked the employee to tell me whateach of them are. He was really friendly and told me which is which, and gave me some recommendations on what to try out. Iended up going with the chicken adobo and beef tapa. I also substituted the steamed rice for their garlic rice for just 50 centsextra. The food was amazing, and they gave a very generous amount to me For the restaurant itself, the place is located in asmall building on the corner. The inside is fairly small, and no indoor seating. There are a couple of tables outside wherepeople can sit. For parking, there is a shopping center across the street that you can park at There aren't many Filipinooptions in the Northern Virginia area, so when I saw that they opened this location that's near me, I was very happy. Idefinitely plan to come back to try their other options Highly recommend Read more
