Celebrated our anniversary at The Local. Excellent corn bread, Oysters Chesapeake and Grilled Octopus appetizers. My wife... enjoyed Sea Bass. I had brazed short ribs. Oversized portion but sadly lacked depth of flavor. Good but not great. Excellentservice and very nice setting. Will return again since the menu was very intriguing. $$$ Read more
Family dinner tonight at The Local was a 1st for us. We didn't do a reservation and opted for sitting in the patio area; not too... bad. The food is very unique compared to the rest of the restaurants in town, which was a great surprise. Every dish we triedwas enough for 2 people, so all 5 of us sampling it all was nice and easy. It was all very good and lives up to the missionstatement of delivering "elevated cuisine"..but the Stuffed Portobello was to die for! A good deal of the menu is market price,but well worth the cost. Service was great and we're weary of live bands, but can even say that turned out to be a pleasantexperience. If you're looking to go casual or on a date night and eat a seasonal dish no other restaurant offers, The Local isyour spot. Read more
If you have time on Tuesday to visit Aron behind the bar….RUN FOREST RUN TO THE LOCAL! I love this place. Great food and even... better service. All the employees here are so kind and welcoming. Made a few friends at the bar today, most Tuesdays are prettyslow but today seemed a little busy. Definitely recommend Betty Dixon and Short rib grilled cheese sandwiches! I see a lot ofreviews saying that “prices are high” but I’ve been in the restaurant industry for over ten years and I think they aregreat prices for what you are getting. Read more
The only bad part about this place is that I got too full to finish eating my meal. The food here is amazingly good, you will... want to finish every bite. We were lucky to get a table for two since they do book up quickly, so we would recommend booking atable in advance. They have a list of all their local vendors displayed on the wall. This is 100% the best example of farm totable you can find around here without going to an actual farm. I got the french toast, which is prepared differently dependingon the day. Today it was Elvis style (with peanutbutter and bananas). It came with a very generous portion size. If you wantcheap breakfast food, there are dozens of restaurants that can oblige. If you want amazing breakfast food and great service,this is your place. We will definately be back. Read more
First time here. Very good food. Presentation was excellent. When it came out it was very hot which was great. Usually... restaurants sever is very warm. But this was noticeably hotter like it just came off the grill and hit our table. Great start!Atmosphere was nice. Staff was excellent. Just the right about of check-ins. No issue with parking and if there is, they offervalet at the door for that "special" feel. Just a note . . this is on the higher price side for the area BUT the portions areVERY good making it well worth it! You will not go home hungry and if you're like us, you'll be taking some home. This place is AWESOME!!!!!! I recommend it to literally everyone. The food is phenomenal. The prices are reasonable. The people... are welcoming and warm! Out of curiosity I looked at the lower rating reviews because I was shocked anyone would give it a 1star. The only problem I see is that so many people want to eat here that the location and the building cannot handle thedemand. They have since expanded, doubling their space and now take reservations -- you one star people should give it anothertry!! Also here is a picture of the acorn squash dish which is DELICIOUS! I was up in the Aberdeen area for a week long class. I found this place online since I’m always trying to find new places... that I can’t really experience back home. This place is dynamite. It is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. If you are close by, go to this place, you won’t regret it. I cannot recommend it enough, everything is top notch. PS. Absolutely delicious and excellent experience! To start our waitress, Daisy, was phenomenal! She knew the menu and was so... engaged with every table she cared for. The best server my husband and I have ever had! Next, the food and drinks were fantastic! The PB&J pork belly was such a combo of different flavors but it worked perfectly, such a excellent pairing offlavors!
