Beautiful building and friendly service. The food was okay and two apps took an hour to come out.

Good food, good drinks and great ambience. We won?t on a Friday night so the live music was really good.

Been here a couple times a couple years apart. The beer seemed pricey the first time I went and the food was okay. This last... time I went I wasn't really impressed either. Service was slow and the food just seems to be missing something. For example Igot the fish and chips and it came with shoe string fries. Not really the right thing for that in my opinion because you need ahearty fry for dunking in the tarter sauce. Read more

Some 30 years after first seeing Blackthorn at Cowley's, we gathered again - now in the upstairs performance space. Blackthorn... is as delightful as ever. And, wow! Did Cowley's ever find a great way to create a great evening. Reservations were requiredand included seating for dinner to start at 5 (performance at 7). We had four dinner options from which to choose (allpre-selected as well), so the kitchen was well prepared for the turnout, and the bar was well stocked. While staffing may havebeen lighter than in the past, all the servers were expert and accommodating. (And who knew there would be cheesecake?!) Ithink Richard remarked that it had been 496 days since their last performance. It was worth the wait, the band sounded as goodas ever, and many of the two dozen at our table said we would be there again! It was pretty awesome to have been there with ourFramily, but also to have seen friends from various iterations of our lives.
