Charley's is a quaint little gem downtown Farmville. It's got character and a homey, country vibe. The atmosphere was welcoming... and the food was plentiful! The staff were super friendly and helpful. The only thing I'd say was a little annoying was thatthere seemed to be a bar area where they were playing a game that was somewhat loud. But the noises didn't bother us the wholetime, so it wasn't a huge deal. We will definitely be coming back!! Read more

Came into Farmville for the first time today and looked up top restaurants - Tripadvisor's Top 10 list was the first thing I... looked at, and it had this restaurant listed as #2. I figured we could give it a shot for a simple lunch that likely had outdoorseating next to the water. First impressions on getting out to the patio was that there were a lot of food scraps and trash onthe floor. Ok, not a big deal if a little off putting. 2nd thoughts were that smoking was allowed on the patio and a lot of itwas wafting our way. After seeing another group get up and move to another table without saying anything to their waiter, wetold our waiter we'd be doing the same to get some distance from the smoke. We were told they have an odd policy where certainoutdoor tables can't have people sitting at them unless there is a party of 6 or more involved - even though the individualtables we were looking at moving to had 2 to 3 chairs sat around them... AND parties of 1 or 2 were seated at other similartables. OK, strange and annoying, but whatever. We switch to a better table and our food arrives a little after. We ordered twoseparate burgers - one was ordered medium rare which came out well-cooked. Mine was ordered medium and came out quite well-done.The fries were nothing special, just some frozen things thrown in the fryer. Also, a weird point of contention was that theburger pictured above didn't come with onion. It wasn't mentioned on the menu looking back so it's my fault, but I honestlycan't remember getting the "plain burger" on a menu anywhere that doesn't come with LTO. Overall, the place wasn't very clean(there were roughly 6-8 employees there at the time and about 20 customers both inside and outside), the smoking was offputting, the outdoor seating policy was VERY odd, and we left feeling like we'd basically just had a disappointing meal atApplebee's. Everything was honestly great :-) Portions were huge ! Our server Kris was awesome and very attentive ! They had their... seasonal cider drink ???? We loved the food. Started with the crab dip, comes with lots of bread. (Bread was so warm and veryfresh) Roasted red pepper Crab soup was so yummy ???? The app was so filling and our entrees were HUGE I got full just lookingat the plate ???? But we got the chicken parm (it comes with pasta) & the shrimp and broccoli Alfredo. I probably wouldn?t getthe broccoli next time, the bigger ones didn?t taste that great, but the rest was good. Both entrees came with a side salad! Weboth got Caesar salads, barely had any dressing ???? but it tasted good. Deff recommend this place! Especially if you?re fromout of town and don?t know where to go. Glad I came here. Read more
Excellent atmosphere and service. Charley's was the last stop my friend and I made on our Farmville trip and I am glad we did.... We had a nice outdoor dining experience with great service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. They knew allthe things I would've asked about for gluten-free before I even asked, including whether the fries were made in a dedicatedfryer, which they were not. I got a delicious Ruben on a gluten-free bun with coleslaw and was very happy. We also got the Crabdip with veggies and corn chips which we were both disappointed in, but overall it was a great experience and I would definitelyvisit again whenever I am in Farmville. *I meant to take a photo before I ate half my sandwich but it was too good. We stopped in for lunch while shopping for furniture at Green front and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was awesome at the... bar and the food was delicious. The portions were generous and they had a wide assortment of beer on tap. What really impressedme is they have ice cold glasses for the beers. They have a large outdoor deck so I'm nice days you probably have a pretty goodview. Read more
Charlie's Waterfront Cafe is a very relaxed atmosphere either indoors or outdoors. My wife had a burger with caramelized onions,... bacon, sharp cheddar, brie & lemon mayo with a bowl of roasted red pepper & crab soup. I had a grilled chicken sandwich toppedwith brie, caramelized onions & apples on a toasted French baguette & fries. We each ate half of the sandwiches and it wasplenty. I'll have a treat later.
