We made reservations for a family holiday get together. The atmosphere was beautiful! Service was a bit slow and a couple of... family members got the wrong food. A couple of the meals took longer than others. I was charged for a cup of hot tea that Ididn't order. I ordered only hot water as I had my own tea bag. No military discount. The hostess did agree to have a servertake a family photo and that was very nice. Read more

We had to rebook our baby shower last minute here because another venue fell through and canceled on us a week before our event... date. Lauren was very accommodating and we were able to book our same date / time and flawlessly rebook here! It was definitelyan upgrade. Customer service was excellent, the staff helped us set up, they frequently asked if we needed anything and madesure everything was perfect for us - and the event was beautiful. We had the Betsy Ross room and it was perfect for 30 people. The food was very fresh - the only criticism was that it was very bland and lacked seasoning which didnt seem to mirror theirnormal standard for food as far as flavor goes, and considering the cost per plate bc they are a bit pricey. We were alsocharged an extra 100 bucks for a soda bar that i didnt ask for and unfortunately nobody drank but considering how accommodatingthey were for us i didnt raise an issue with it and we were happy nonetheless with everything overall. Great event, Thanksagain! Will definitely hold another event here. Read more

Incoming to the book for 65 years. Always a great place to go. We all have days off at times, and some of these reviews are... unfair. I think the prices are extremely reasonable and everyone is always so very very nice. But I was very disappointed in thedining room when I was there for lunch last week. The porch that they put on, I hope will be different when I go again. We hadto have our table changed because of the light coming in from that porch was blinding. It was if someone had flashlights in myface. Of course we asked to be moved and of course we were moved without any question and had a very lovely lunch. But I do sohope that awnings of some kind are put onto that glass porch before I come back again. That kind of light makes the lovelydining room that I’ve known for years like a funeral parlor. I believe awnings on the outside of the porch would do the trickand put the dining room back to the same atmosphere it had before. Read more

Good food, atmosphere and music. Waitresses and servers are friendly. Great views of neighborhood from upper deck and the... Bathrooms are respectably clean for the amount of guests. The Buck Hotel is frequently visited by locals as a destination spotfor a good evening out. Several bars on the premises too. There is a sizable dance floor when you feel the need to do your“Elaine” dance. There are parts of the establishment sectioned off from visitors - the wooden steps. Can’t wait to see /explore this area of the restaurant. Historical Record: The Buck Hotel has been a community landmark since 1735. Read more

I went to Buck once for brunch and now for dinner and my experience is the same both times, the restaurant is really expensive... and I have no idea why. The place is extremely outdated, the waitresses who are also bartenders do not want to be there and donot care, the food is ok but the prices just don’t make sense. Nothing we ate was bad, but at $41 for 2 crab cakes I’dexpect it to be amazing. The worst part was the drinks… I mean the drinks are $12 each but the bartender could not make adecent one to save her life. And we all had different ones. One drink I got was straight up vodka. I mean thanks, but I do notorder a martini for that reason, it should be balanced…. But again, our waitress/bartender could not have cared less about usor being there so I would’ve been shocked if she actually cared about making a good drink. No being nice or attentive, no“can I get you some waters”, no checking to see if we need anything… none of that plus a bad attitude. At over $100 perperson we felt really ripped off by the whole experience and we felt the same when we came for brunch couple years ago. I get itthings cost more now, but you’re gonna have to up your service and quality too. Also, we got different menus and some menushad prices that were about $4 cheaper on all items…. Of course we charged the higher prices. Read more

I love the buck hotel! My family has been coming here for generations! For wedding receptions, funeral luncheons, Thanksgiving... dinners & other kinds of hosted events. Last time I went the food quality had declined & I've heard that recently too. Hope theystep their game back up! The Buck Hotel has over a century's reputation to uphold for our local area's history! I had the opportunity to have my wedding ceremony and reception at The Buck this weekend and it was superb. Lauren went above... and beyond to make the day go smoothly and to make sure all the guests were taken care of, from the Ceremony to cocktail hourand then the reception. The food was phenomenal and the service was excellent. All my guests were raving about how beautifulthe venue was and how good the food was, as well as the service. Thank you Lauren, and The Buck for letting us have the weddingof our dreams. Read more
