We thought it was nice to find a dine in Steak and Shake however, only one door was accessible, the other's were locked with no... signs stating to use a different entrance. We placed our order for 3 people at 2:06pm, it was 2:45 when we finally got our food.I'd gone to the counter around 2:35 to see if maybe the order was forgotten and a young guy said, "soon, order will be readysoon". A female worker who I assume was a manager in training, (I hope that's the case) said they had so many people in thestore that they had to close off the lobby. There were only 3 other people eating in the store! I understand the shortage ofemployees these days so the fact that they have no servers anymore wasn't nearly as bothersome as the employees laziness thatwere supposed to be on duty. In my opinion a fast food restaurant shouldn't take more than 15 minutes tops to have orders ready. And the manager in training needs an attitude adjustment also. Read more

Haven?t been to this Steak n Shake for several months. Won?t be going back anytime soon. The only thing that was ok in the... order were the fries. I ordered three cheeseburgers with no onions and all three had onions. I ordered chili three way andmine came with cheese and onions. We also ordered shakes and while they were all correct, the cups all had holes in them so wehad shakes dripping all over us. Jay did offer to refund my money but I don?t want to go back. I was in line for 30 minutes. He told me that no one was in line for 30 minutes and then hung up on me. His ticket may show a shorter time but that doesn?ttake into account how long it took for them to take my order. Read more

Interesting late night visit with kiosk ordering. Came in with a crew, and we all grabbed a kiosk screen and ordered our food.... Fast, efficient, pay on the spot. Now, it was a pretty solid experience, the cooks were bustin' it out nicely. Our food wascountered in minutes. They call your name when your order is up, just step up and get it. Food was hot and fresh, well-prepared,delicious. It made for a quick get in, get it down, get it done. Condiments, drinks, napkins, utensils, and machinesself-serve, all on the counter. Tables and floors were clean. I had a double cheeseburger with onion rings, and preparation wason point. The burger even looked like a photograph. Restroom was also clean and stocked. I will keep them in mind for futurevisits, because it was worth my time. Read more

Worst food ever. Burger was dripping, literally dripping, in condiments. The cheese sauce looks suspiciously like plastic. The... fries were not even half filled. Waited on the order at the curb, but it was still cold. The whipped cream on the shake wasslimy and stuck to the spoon I had to use to eat it because the plastic straw was Bigfoot sized. Called to complain and theperson who answered just sat there. Had to ask for a manager. After all that, we have a credit for food, but who wants to eatthat? How does Culver?s manage to give awesome service but these other places are closing dining rooms and giving horribleservice? It?s not the economy, it?s the cruddy service. Read more

*Edit: To make matters somehow worse the food made us all sick last night!!* Placed online order for wrong store as they are... both on the same street. Called mistake store to cancel order and was told they could not you had to do it online. Looked atorder email and it said to call store. Figured it was inexperienced worker so drove another 10 minutes. Picked up food and leftchecked bag was missing cheese sauce and fries were cold. Went back in and talked to the same guy who answered the phone. Toldhim I wanted fresh fries and his response was it's not my fault you ordered 30 minutes ago. Explained to him I was the one thatcalled in about the wrong order. Asked two more times and asked for manager twice. Finally he went to drop fries and grab cheesesauce after 5 minutes back and forth. No manager came up asked another employee manager came out and I immediately inquired onif they could refund online orders. She explained for deliver or web orders they can not. So I proposed what if I ordered abanana shake and you were out? She responded they would replace it and I asked if I didn't want a replacement she said she wouldthen refund it. Having run multiple restaurants I told her her attempt to get margins low like that she would lose business andI myself would not return. She then grabbed the bags and offered to refund my food! By this time my kids have been waiting for30 minutes to eat. I hope to God they shut down that location the other one in Fenton is great like night and day. Read more

No table service now at this location. Had to order meals from a kiosk. As senior citizens we fumbled around with the computer,... and after our third attempt, successfully submitted the food order. $4 Dollar Menu made the meal affordable. The double pattiecheese hamburger was delicious. The french fries are crisp and tasty. The chocolate milk shakes were the best that I have hadrecently. I think the shakes had been put in the freezer while we ate our food. The ice cream was thick and the glass FROSTED!All was so yummy. It was a bit (actually quite a lot) disappointing that none of my three gift cards worked. I haven't eatenout much given the state of life right now. Read the very "fine print" on the back of the gift cards. A FEE is assessed to thegift card for each month of non-use! Bad gift to give or receive! Read more

Steak N Shake has went to full kiosk ordering when dining in, even in cases where you prefer to at least place your order with a... real person. Instead they offer to "teach you to use the kiosk." The problem was not me not knowing how to use a kiosk (althoughthe order system was clumsy and poorly designed), the problem was that the option was not even on the kiosk (sub swiss cheese). So after having to make sure the special order was relayed to three different people to the cook, the order was still wrong.Would have been easier, less time consuming, and a better experience just ordering from a person. After 40+ years, it was mylast meal at Steak n Shake. Read more
