My 12 year old daughter and I were so looking forward to our night out. I knew I was taking a chance without a reservation but... did not know what time we would arrive. The waiter offered us a spot at the bar which we gladly took but he not so politelyadvised they were a ?reservation only? establishment. There were 4 empty tables at the time which remained empty during the hourwe were there as well as 3 other tables that cleared during that time. We also heard him refuse another table dessert becausethey had been late for their reservation, even though at that point the restaurant was less then half full. Read more
Takeout from the Broken Gavel did not disappoint! We got the 'Castros Choice' pulled pork sandwich and two orders of Mac n'... Cheese, and they were all phenomenal. Food was hot, ready on time, and staff were super nice. Read more
Their food is great, you just can't decide to eat there or order out spur of the moment. My family moved away from the area, so... we're not local anymore, but we were visiting and wanted to order. The website said that they are dine in by reservation only,and take out. So, I tried calling to ask what the wait time was like. The guy said they only take takeout orders at specifictimes, and wouldn't be taking the next one for almost two hours. I said that makes it complicated to order, and he said thatthey're not a takeout restaurant. I felt that was pretty rude. Especially since the website specifically says that they do takeout, and makes it sound like an alternative option, since dine in is reservation only. Read more
The food was delicious, affordable, and the portions very generous. The Broken Gavel has a cozy and comfortable vibe, but you... must make a reservation in advance to get a table and it's a popular place so call in advance. Looking forward to our nextvisit! Read more

Food is amazing and staff are friendly and professional. I always get the small Caesar salad and the Cheesiest Mac and Cheese... every time I go and I highly recommend it. I also had their dessert special of the Chocolate Truffle cake and it was reallygood! Read more
