The best Indian cuisine in Metro Detroit, hands down! I have never had a bad dish here, in fact, everything i?ve had has been... the best i?ve ever had (including when i lived in Portland Oregon and Dallas Texas). The butter chicken is to DIE FOR. Like,lick the bowl clean delicious (probably don?t do this if you?re dining in though lol). Highly recommend! Delicious food, awesome servers, and nice ambiance! The food was very tasty! We brought family in from out of... town who have never had Indian food before. We asked our server what his recommendations were and it did not disappoint! Westarted off with samosas, eggplant pakora, and an onion bhajee. We ordered one side of naan and one garlic naan - perfect! Ourmain dishes were chicken tikka masala, shrimp jalfrezi, mixed tandoori, a lentil soup, chicken dansak, and kadai paneer - whichwasn?t on the menu but they made it for my husband. We were treated with the best hospitality - owner and servers made ourexperience even better! We will definitely be repeat customers for many years! Read more
We (my husband, daughter, and I) get takeout from Star of India almost every Friday. It is consistently delicious, and the staff... are wonderful! The restaurant changed ownership earlier this year and we were concerned that the quality would decline, but ithasn't! Read more

I was just visiting Detroit for the auto-show that there hosting this year, and I stopped by on the way back. Ive kinda always... liked Indian food but I haven?t gone to a Indian restaurant in quite a while. And I have to say that it was some of the bestfood I?ve had in a long time. I came here with a friend while we were exploring the area. I love Indian food, and this place didn't disappoint. We came just... before dinner, so we basically had the whole restaurant to ourselves. The service was quick, and the food was delicious andauthentic. Highly recommend! Read more
