I don?t really write reviews, but this place feels like stepping into Japan in the heart of Findlay Ohio. Great tasting,... authentic food and friendly service. Good for a light lunch or a fantastic dinner. One of my top 3 in Findlay hands down. Thesushi and sashimi is fresh and expertly prepared. Always friendly and a clean restaurant to boot. Read more

I have easily eaten at over 100 sushi restaurants coast to coast and can without reservation say that you will not find higher... quality traditional sushi! Many american sushi restaurants have become too "fusion" and have lost the beauty of the cuisinethat results in awesome yet simple flavors that blows the tastebuds! Prices are comparable to most restaurants I have eaten,but if you remember anything from this review remember that the quality of their ingredients, especially their fish, is far andabove most restaurants I have eaten! I will always eat here over the competition in Findlay! In fact the other places inFindlay are sub par in my opinion...and in comparison to Japan West, there is no comparison! Read more
This was a real treat that my friend surprised me. Japan West has Japanese "Izakaya" type of appetizers as well as great quality... sushi! When you walk into a good sushi restaurant you should smell strong aroma of vinegered rice. That's what I smelled.Futomaki tasted like the ones I grew up eating back in Japan. Nigiri sushi were great also but hard to beat the ones inHokkaido. I'd definitely recommend this place for anybody. Read more
Sushi was subpar for the price in my opinion and I've been to many different sushi restaurants. The pork katsu curry was very... good, the tonkatsu Ramen was good, but no egg made it score lower. The cold sake was good. The chicken wing appetizer I orderedwas so salty I couldn't eat it, luckily they took it off of our bill after I had to send it back. The pork and onion skewer wasgood. Biggest issue was all of the food came out in the wrong order. Sushi first, then appetizers and my curry together and thenfinally 10 minutes later the Ramen. So that was unfortunate. For $135 I wouldn't say it was "worth it". Read more
