This is one of the best experiences on the North Shore. A quaint, small, wonderful stop in the middle of the woods and way off... the paved world. The Train Wreck with Casualties is our go-to every time. Between the bratwurst patty, the beef patty, thedifferent cheeses, and...the chef's surprise, you can't go wrong. Consider bringing a chain saw. Logs may be on the road. ;-) Read more
A small place but big on character. It was almost all locals when we were there but I am told it gets very busy when the roads... are not washed out. The food was great and even though there were only 2 people working the service was good too. Don't expecta super fast experience but it was not slow either. Read more
If you don't know it's there, you'll miss it. This place was jamming at 2pm on a Wednesday in late September. Lots of locals.... Waitress, Kathy, was all on her own and rocked it. Gotta love the Midwest nice around here. Best burger I've had in the Midwesthere, the Train Wreck, a big beef patty and a big bratwurst patty, lotsa bacon, lotsa cheese... Take my money and my insurancecard for the ambulance I'll likely need after this. Really neat history behind this place. Beautiful location. Read more
Take a scenic drive to the fabulous trestle inn restaurant and saloon for food. Highly recommend getting the Canadian walleye!... Fabulous flavor in the pan seared walleye. Great little restaurant in the middle of the woods. Bummer they got rid of their wifi. With not much service in that area it was... great to stop in, grab a bite to eat and check the phones. Still very worth stopping in! Read more
