They serve DELICIOUS breakfast sandwiches on Saturdays. Some can be a bit greasy & they're not cheap, but the portion sizes are... very generous, and the food tastes authentic and fresh. Also, the coffee served here is amazing. EDIT 7/29: I still stand bytheir quality in terms of food & drink, but unfortunately, we found a HAIR inside the lid of the iced coffee. I'll start off by saying Google bamboozled me and needs to fix this. The name of the place isn't Cafecito, it's Scratch kitchen.... So I expected spanish style coffee and pastries. That wasn't the case. Scratch Kitchen has homemade biscuits, croissants andEnglish muffins breakfast sandwiches. The croissant sandwich was super tasty and came with a side of potatoes pancakes. I'll start by saying I love V&V Scratch Kitchen. It's some of the best food around and... It's a real treat to have it in the... South Hills. I've never had anything there that I'd describe as less than 'fantastic'. With that said, our first visit to thesister store, V&V Cafecito, left us a little confused. For a light breakfast, we stopped by for some iced coffees andpastries. I got a caramel latte and my wife ordered the special "chocolate covered strawberry latte". Shortly after leaving thestore, having put the coffees in the car cup-holders... My wife and I noticed... we couldn't tell them apart. There wasbasically no flavor, or sweetness, to the drinks at all. It was like they forgot to add it. And it's not a situation wherewe're only used to Starbucks and their 122 grams of sugar drinks. While my wife is a sugar junkie, I normally drink blackcoffee. I usually only add cream and sugar if it's iced. So, when I say it was unsweetened... it's unsweetened. At the very lastsip of the drink, I was able to make out a hint of caramel. My guess is whoever was making the coffees was new and wasn't awareof how to portion it out. The reason why it's so disappointing is, you're always paying a premium at V&V. Normally worth it. Butwe paid $14 for the drinks. That's a lot of money. There are several coffee shops within driving distance who, for us, werebetter tasting and cost less. When you add in the pastries and tip, we basically paid $30. Speaking of the pastries, they werefantastic. Part of me feels bad putting this so low in the review but, we were really there to get coffee. However, the ham andcheese pastry was amazing. Flavorful, tender, like everything you'd want out of a breakfast sandwich... just... in a pastryformat. I'd absolutely get those again. I could see myself driving out there just get a few. This is a delicious little wonder in South Park! I had a breakfast sandwich here that was honestly the best breakfast sandwich... I've ever had. The baked goods were delicious too! AND the staff was super nice to top it off! I only wish there were morenon-seafood options for lunch and dinner so I could eat here more often. Keep up the great work, V&V! Read more
