If you want really authentic south indian food, home cooked and fresh - check this place out. Family run place, cooked with a... big heart and lots of warmth. Try the filter coffee, parotta korma, and their meals - you won?t be dissapointed! Read more

We were looking for a South Indian Food local or nearer to Hillsborough, VijayaVilas came in the search. Tried out a take out-... food was better than all other restaurants in the closest proximity, "way better than Arusuvai and Mirchi in Edison as those areour options for party orders which they screwed up during our dine ins".. Vijayavilas stood by their commitment and preparedfood for my Housewarming for about 50 people and overall everything was good, delivered at door at 7:30 AM.. Good luck and thankyou for your service and good food. Read more

We had Tava masala dosa Mystoee masala dosa and Parotta Kuruma. The most authentic and tasty food I have ever had in any Indian... restaurant. It is a family run restaurant and the owners treated us like family members. I highly recommend everyone to try thisplace if you are looking for the most authentic south Indian dishes. Read more

My first time visiting an Indian restaurant with some Indian friends who really know their southern Indian cuisine and I have to... say, the food was amazing, so freshly made to order, with the nicest caring service and chefs. Would recommend this place for afantastic authentic Indian dining experience. Looks like the middle of nowhere location, but you find a gem of a restaurant! Read more

We accidentally came upon this restaurant while looking for a South Indian restaurant for mother's day. Let me start my saying... that the food is of really good quality. Most of the dishes we ordered were very tasty and brings back memories from home. Theowner was very friendly and we had a pleasant lunch. I would however personally recommend this place for take out only. It wasan unusual experience for us to walk into a restaurant with untidy tables and chairs, an easy chair, a blanket and cup ofcoffee in the middle of the restaurant. We called the previous night to reserve a table, so they were infact expecting us - yetdidn't feel the need to clean up the place and set up the restaurant. First impressions are very important for the serviceindustry and though we ended up having a tasty lunch, the restaurant didn't leave a good impression. Everything took a while toget ready because they literally make everything from scratch - fortunately for us, we were not in a hurry to be anywhere. Also not everything on the menu was available to order. We had to work with what they had in the kitchen. So bottom line is,this is a great place for tasty, fresh, authentic South Indian food but not for dining in. Well not unless you have the day towile away. I will definitely be ordering from here again to take home and enjoy some fresh home style food. Read more

The food is really good. One can tell that they make everything fresh and use fresh ingredients. All their south Indian dishes... are top notch, however the sambar tends to be a little underwhelming. And their biryani fell a little flat as well. The onlinemenu is confusing, so it's hard to tell how much $ a particular order will come out to be. I have had surprises on a couple oftimes I have ordered from them. Overall good food, but a little pricey! Read more

Finished our sourland preserve hike and called to ask if they still take in customers and if there would be any delay in serving... food. We were assured we will be fine. "10 minutes tops" they said. When we were seated assured again that food will be faster.Ordered masala vadai and it took us almost 20 minutes. This is the first place to tell us that aapam will be faster than adosa(really?!?!?) Aapam was not where close to warm. When asked he said from kitchen to table it got chilled (?!??). It'sfrozen aapam, canned coconut milk and chilled coconut chutney. My friend ordered dosai . Batter was mixed with Maida flour. Hekept assuring us that everything is made fresh. I cannot believe that we don't get a quality good for the amount of money wepay.. Finally..hygiene. he seems to be only one around. Fingers full of vada flour and Dosa batter and when talking he keptputting his hands in his pockets. Totally a let down. Never again!!!! Read more
