Just walking into Big Bear Lodge in Flatrock will give you the feeling of a great experience. The décor is fantastic - I just... love the atmosphere. The great news is that the food is equally as satisfying - and never disappoints. My wife and I love adelicious dinner and great service at this fine restaurant. Well this was my first time at the Big Bear Lodge and I had a Wonderful time. My brother made reservations for a large Family... Dinner (24) which Big Bear very easily handled. We had exceptional service from our two waitresses and everyone seemed to enjoythe atmosphere and themselves. It's a Rustic, Log Cabin atmosphere with multiple big screen TVS and Fireplaces for the coolertime of the year. As for the food, we enjoyed Stuffed Mushrooms, Deviled Eggs, and Nachos for appetizers. I had a deliciousSirloin Steak ???? with mashed Garlic Potatoes. And I chose freshly baked Chocolate Chip Cookies for dessert. I sadly forgotto snap some pictures of the menu items. My Bad. But I watched family members enjoy Salmon, Pork Roast, Steak ????,Hamburgers, Prime Rib, Soups, Fresh Bread, etc. They have a completely stocked choice of any alcohol beverage and, or course,traditional beverages as well. Went on Thursday to have dinner for my daughters 12th birthday .We absolutely loved it! This was my first time my daughter has... been with her friend ,it's now her favorite! My whole family, all 5 of us enjoyed our food and experience. The decor and upnorth coziness is awesome! I will be back soon! Kids had fish, said it was good. One kid ordered mini burgers. They ran out of straws so we had to drink from bar straws. Kids... liked that, Lol. I got the hamburger and the bun was super large and full of seeds. I had to request a plain bun. Food was ok. Read more
I have been enjoying their food and service since they opened in 2001, but it has been about 5 years since I have been there.... The group I was with said that the food was worth the drive from northern Detroit suburbs. Ribs, steaks, salads, and salmon wereout choices. The surroundings were also a hit. Upon arrival the host Kristen was very kind. As she seated us to our table she asked if we had a good day and was very... interactive with my daughter and I. Our waitress Mary was AMAZING!!!! She took her time to explain items on the menu, suggestedthe most awesome dish that we absolutely loved and did an awesome job with making us feel welcome. I definitely will request hertable on our next visit and YES we will visit often. The food was delicious!!!!!! Our drinks were so good and the wait time wasrespectable. Great streaks and chicken! Oh yeah, the soup is delicious too! I had the Ribeye, and my wife had spinach and artichoke chicken... with pasta. My steak was cooked exactly as I ordered it, not something I see to often. The best part was the fact that ourserver, Shelby, asked me to cut into my steak to make sure it was done to my liking. So often, the dinner plates arrive and theserver disappears to take care of the other tables before I can comment on the dish. Excellent service! My wife's chicken wasexcellent! The dish was served with an Alfredo sauce that complimented the chicken and pasta. It was so delicious that I'm goingto order it the next time we stop in for dinner. Salads with house-made ranch were fresh, crisp, and delicious! The fullservice bar was well stocked with an excellent number of beers on tap. I never had to wait for my refill! Read more
