8 Star Rating for Matt's Red Rooster when only Five is allowed...The hospitality, The Atmosphere, The Service provided by the... Staff amplified the great meal we had. Our group was relatively tired from a full day at Old York Cellars and simply lookingforward to a great meal. Upon entering the building on a crowded Saturday night, the smiles of the servers and the greetingrecieved set the tone for my guests. The friendliness was noticeable and was our first topic of conversation amongfriends......The quality of any restaurant will be determined by its staff and this team delivered. The walk upstairs leadingto our dining room felt inviting and the atmosphere was like we just arrived home from college and the home made cooking waswaiting for us..... The table set up was simple, but the space was the perfect place for a family meal. I personally enjoyedthe 'The Classic' Center Cut Filet with bleu cheese crust....medium rare and just right. Special Thanks to Matt and his entireteam for making our 50th birthday celebration memorable. Great place to eat in downtown Flemington. The restaurant is in a historic home and has a great atmosphere .The service is top... notch from the friendly hostess greeting us to our server. We were given water and bread with an awesome apple chutneyimmediately, wine opened and poured. Everything was delicious from the appetizers, to the meal, to the deserts. Wonderful restaurant for a high end dinner. Went with my partner for a nice Friday night out and was not disappointed. It was my... first time there and had been a few years for her. I got the dry aged steak and pork belly tacos while she got the mushroom soupand some fancy seafood dish. My tacos were heavenly and the steak was out of this world. Perfectly cooked medium with amazingtaste, texture, and amount of fat. I wish I remembered the names of her food choices but her soup was hot from the kitchen whichnever happens at normal dinning establishments and tasted wonderful. The seafood dish had perfectly cooked pasta, a flat noodlestyle with a 4oz lobster tail, shrimp, and muscles. The location is in an old home making it feel cozy and familiar, just a bittight though. Every employee was very kind, courteous, and helpful. I would recommend coming here if it is an anniversary or acelebration. You have to call for a reservation before hand because it is a very popular place. After we left we received aphone call from our server Cindy (hope that's how she spells it) thanking us for our tip which I have never experienced. She wastrying to make sure she had the right number in the voicemail and was genuinely surprised. That really makes this please standout. Great dinner at Matt's Red Rooster Grill! Love the space- old home turned into beautiful restaurant. Food was excellent. I... loved the special short rib entree. And, it's BYOB, always a bonus. When we moved to Flemington two years ago, we've been dying to try Matt's Red Rooster. We finally had a chance and ordered... pickup for our anniversary dinner. We have a 2 year 8 month old son so dining is difficult lately. When I placed the order Imentioned how excited we were to try it and that it was our anniversary dinner. Matt's Red Rooster went above and beyond byplacing "Happy Anniversary" tags on our dessert! That was very thoughtful! I ordered the Cowboy Rob Eye medium rare with redpotato mashed and mixed vegetables which was cooked perfectly. My wife ordered the Halibut special. We also ordered the stuffedtomatoes with braised short ribs, mozzarella and basil pesto. For dessert, we ordered the vanilla cheesecake and flourlesschocolate tort. They both came with fresh homemade whipped cream, raspberry sauce and caramel sauce. All I can say is WOW!Everything was so good and amazing. The food was fresh with top notch ingredients. First time back to this restaurant in many years and it is as good now as I remember it being. The server was very professional... and friendly and the food, excellent. Although I don’t eat oysters, they were enjoyed by those that do at the table. Themushroom soup was fantastic. nice mix a various types of mushrooms that resulted in a very good taste and texture. The halibutwas perfectly cooked and finally, the cheesecake, something I probably haven’t ordered in years was delicious. Worth the tonsof calories! I highly recommend this restaurant. Read more
