I ordered a birthday cake on 18th September and picked on 20th around at 6 pm and this is what happened when my daughter started... to cut at 7 pm after I brought home. I spoke to manager after that and tried to explain what happened. She asked me severalquestions and finally said store can't take any responsibility once I signed the invoice and came out of the store evendelivered poor cake. She thought I called for compensation. I told her I called them to make sure this doesn't happen toothers. Horrible experience!!!!! This store should be nice with the customer when someone goes to order cake. My sister ordered apple turnovers and when she got ready to eat the 1st one, the inside was black and rotten. The other 2 you... can see that they were starting to get mildew. I couldn't believe my eyes. They make a lot of business but they only care aboutthe money not the customer. Strawberry shortcake 7.5/10. While most bakeries on LI likes to make a cake that?s too dry, this cake is wet. Not as bad as St... Rocco?s strawberry shortcake which taste like eating a wet sponge, this is still a wet cake and ruins it. The frosting is justright, not too sweet and not too light. The filling layers is also just right amount of cream and strawberries. It is slightlysweeter than I prefer but passable. I?ve been to this bakery a few times and their service is always excellent and the displays are absolutely beautiful. Very... friendly and helpful people who take the time to explain the items to you. However I have yet to be blow away by theirgoods. Their cakes and cupcakes are usually really cold and dense. Now as a disclaimer I?m a person who likes light decadentcakes and pastries. Notes of vanilla bean or cinnamon should dance on my palate. I shouldn?t just taste sugar and flour? andthat?s what this bakery?s cakes taste like. Really just lack luster. Same thing with the tarts? the crust was soggy on theinside? it wasn?t the type short crust pastry that gives you that distinctive ?snap? when you dig your spoon into the pastry.And the berries on top were not fresh. I took a second look at my bill and earnestly felt silly for stopping at this bakerybecause when you?ve had better, you know better. But I stopped locally because I didn?t want to drive futher out. For the sameprice I could have gone to Martha?s county bakery and gotten 4 slices of decadent cakes. Martha?s country cakes always light,fresh and never ridiculously sweet. And the cake itself ( minus the frosting) always has a wonderful flavor. For the same priceI could have gone to the French Workshop and gotten better quality pastries. When you dig into a fruit tart from from the Frenchworkshop you are instantly greeted by the beautiful ?snap? sound a shortcrust pastry should make. Then you have the beautifulcreme in to the inside balanced by the tang of fresh berries. . For half the price I could have gone to Paris Baguette. They never disappoint! The customer service is always phenomenal. I came here for a cheese cake two weeks ago for my job?s... holiday party and everyone loved it! I also came here in a bind yesterday for some cup cakes after being told at the last minutethat another bakery could not fulfill my order. My toddler loves chocolate cupcakes and Minnie Mouse, and she was having herfirst in school party. The other bakery told me 20 minutes until my pick up time that they did not have chocolate cupcakes afterI had placed the order about 24 hrs before and paid for it. I came to Buttercooky @ 9 am, when I needed the cupcakes and can youimagine my surprise when I saw these gems that matched my theme perfectly already in the display case! The kids loved thecupcakes. This was my first time at Buttercooky Bakery & it was a marvelous experience. The staff was professional & even though the line... was long they were speedy & kept it moving. I came to this place all the way up from NJ to visit a friend and we shared some pastries and desserts plus coffee, the place... has lots of personality, the staff is friendly and courteous. Their products tasted heavenly, not too sweet, just the rightamount, they were fresh made and looked amazing. It was hard to choose out of so many options.
