Calamari was wonderful. The only issue was that there was a bit of a wait time for food.
Was simply an enchanting evening at Poppy's Place. Was like going back in time to dining at your favorite hometown spot. The... atmosphere is cozy, the waitstaff is accommodating and the food is right on the mark. It is obviously a favorite of the locals.Diners at different tables walk around to meet and greet. Although we are not neighborhood folk, by the time our dinner wascompleted, we felt like one of the crowd. Can't wait to plan our next visit. Of course I'll make a reservation as we didtonight. My husband and I have had many date nights here but it had been a long time. I decided to order for our family - this is still... one of my favorites - we missed enjoying our delicious food inside Poppy?s, however we shared stories of some very nice times wehave had in the past. Solid pasta dishes and nice warm bread basket to start. Be sure to ask your server which of the pasta dishes are fresh made... pasta (not everything is). I had the pappardelle w meat sauce -- v good. This would be 4 stars if not for all the TVs at thebar being tuned to Fox News and lack of ambiance in back dining room area. Our server was very nice. Read more
