My new favorite restaurant. We drove an hour to try this place and boy it did not disappoint. I had the take keiseki meal and... enjoyed every course. The quality of the food was exceptional and the sashimi was very fresh. The tempura course wasoutstanding with big shrimp and perfectly fried vegetables. If I lived close I would be here weekly. Will definitely bring mydaughter who adores Japanese food. The only course I did get pic of was the assorted appetizers. Next time???? Read more

Very authentic and good Japanese food, I had several Japanese friends in college and this is the place they recommended the... most, hadn't gone there since the pandemic started but it was nice to get some of their great food again. The waitress did bringus the wrong appetizer (ordered tofu and got chicken) but everything else was great. Despite the hiccup, would definitely gothere again. Read more

Matsuya Japanese Restaurant was a decent place to eat. The atmosphere seemed a little aged. One cool detail was a seating area... that was more like a traditional Japanese home, where you took off your shoes before entering and sat on the floor. I orderedthe Tonkotsu Ramen and my wife ordered Chicken Teriyaki. One issue I had was that the entrees did not come out at the same time,it took a few minutes before my wife's chicken came out. The food was okay but seemed to lack flavor. The Ramen could have useda punch of acid and a little heat. The Chicken Teriyaki could have had a little more sweetness. Truly authentic and amazing family style Japanese restaurant. The atmosphere is great as we are sitting on tatami mat. We... ordered sukiyaki hotpot and a kaiseki. All of the food is so delicious! Sashimi is fresh. Vegetables are tasty. Beef is slicedthinly for hotpot. High value for money given the size of the food as well. Lastly, service is impeccable!
