Ambiance: 4/5 Waiter Service:4.5/5 Food:4.2/5 Customer service/accommodations: 1.8/5 This place is charming and at a great... location. The service was a bit slow but we did have a party of 12, so with reason it was a bit slower than usual. The food isyummy and at a good price point. This is what our table ordered: -calamari - it was ok, a bit overdone; we would probably notorder again -carpaccio - this is a must, it was delicious -ciopino - this was a team favorite, (4) people ordered this and weenjoyed it -aragosta - this was a team favorite by far, everyone had a bite and they wanted seconds -tiramisu- this is amust -cannoli/crème brûlée- tried these, and they were ok, probably wouldn’t order again I have been to over 180restaurants in DFW and all different price points. I am a bit disappointed at restaurants that don’t accommodate large partieswith split checks. With a lot of options for people to choose from, a lot of restaurants bend over backwards to ensure that thecustomer has an excellent experience (from when they walk in the door to when they payout/leave). My only suggestion is thatthis restaurant updates their software to accommodate checks for large parties. Sadly, I will not be returning with a largeparty, which makes me sad since I like to gather people together and show them my favorite spots/new finds. When I got home, Ittook me approximately 3mins to plug in the items in my computer and compute everyone’s checks. I am in shock that a restaurantdoesn’t give its employees the ability to do this. This wasn’t the servers fault so we paid over and above the suggestedgratuity because we understand that this is our of their control. I do plan on returning for another dinning experience andgiving this place another chance as the food was delicious. I really hope they update their software for large groups. Read more

Very disappointing. Our poor waiter was new and was given 7 tables at once. The food was pretty good but over priced for the... amount. And because we had an inexperienced waiter, water cups were empty or sodas never got refilled, and bread was hard tocome by. Also half our orders came out incorrect. And one dish was completely cold. Also we had made a reservation, and theystill sat us at two separate tables. So in the end the checks came out in two pieces instead of one which was frustrating. Themanager ended up helping at the end, which is why there are two stars instead of one. I'm not sure it's worth the price to goback another time. Although the gnocchi and bread were very delicious, that is where the good news ends. Unfortunately thecalamari was chewy and not prepared correctly. The beet salad only has six little beets on it, $13 for a pile of arugula a tinysprinkling of goat cheese and six tiny pieces of beet. Also the Russia dish was a very small size for the price, and the chickenwasn't cut very well. Overall a bummer of an experience on graduation night. We went with a group, and just our ticket was $80,after a 15% tip, for just my husband and I. When I'm going to pay that much for a mail I expect better. Read more

Surprisingly good Italian food, with good service to boot. Being from Boston and its plethora of Italian restaurants especially... in the North End, Mio Nonno definitely holds their own. Would come back next time I'm in Texas. Read more

This is my second visit. Food and atmosphere is great but the service. Staff could be friendlier and more attentive so the whole... eating/visiting experience is better. I think my last visit was better. Food is great. Read more

Appetizers were good. Veal Piccata and Linguini with clams were disappointing. Pasta was overcooked and drowned in water. Veal... was tender enough but they all lacked of flavor. Read more

The food here is delicious and looks fancy. Everyone at the table liked their meals. There weren't many gluten friendly options,... but I did alright with adding chicken to a salad. The server was friendly but did not automatically refill drinks unless werequested. Also, the lunch menu is not available on Sundays, just the brunch menu, which was disappointing for one guest whowanted a meatball sub. Read more

This was my first trip to Mio Nonno and it was a lovely experience. We sat on the patio that is well covered so enjoyable in the... Texas heat! It was a Friday evening so we had the added bonus of live music playing in the Lakeside courtyard as part of thesummer music series! David, our waiter, was delightful and attentive. The food was excellent, with the exception of the bread. It just had no flavor. Even the olive oil dip added nothing. We started with Caprese salad... definitely a must have! I hadthe chicken cacciatore with polenta and it was delizioso!! The flavor was absolutely incredible. The hubs had lobster ravioli. He generously share a bite for the sake of this review. Also delicious, but I preferred my dish. However, they were generouswith the lobster and he said there was shrimp on the side that was particularly tasty. We finished with Italian cream cake. Thecake itself was slightly dry but the flavor was fantastic and the cream cheese frosting was not overly sweet making for a greatdessert. I can't comment on their bar as we opted for the overpriced, ($3 per bottle) of diet coke. Honestly, the sole reasonfor the 4 stars was the bread. It just fell flat for me. Overall, though, worth the trip. Read more

Great Italian place in Lakeside. Food was Texas authentic and service was excellent. We had the gnocchi appetizer and it was... excellent. The lamb chops had a great flavor, and the pasta alma with chicken and sun dried tomatoes had a great creamy sauce.Overall it was a great experience. It is also 1/2 price bottle wine night. Read more
