Never been to Folkston, Ga. When i passed this place i already knew this was where i wanted to eat. As we looked online at what... all was around town for dinner everywhere closed by 8pm. It was 730pm and we didnt wanna be "those people". Jalen's was open til9, Score!! All the food was delicious and had that nice homemade taste!! The staff was very friendly and we would definitely goback! If u dont know that the small mom and pop places have the best barbeque, then you need to get out of those big corporatechains and try some! Read more

My husband and I shared the rib/pulled pork combo; the portions were big enough to feed two adults. The BBQ sauce was exploding... with flavor, as was the meat. This place knows how to do decent BBQ ???? The friendliness of the gentlemen who took our orderand gave us our food was exceptional, thank you. We will be returning, for another combo. Read more
Always good food & good service. There may be a lil wait at times but when you have good , fresh food not under a heat lamp it's... definitely worth the wait. Glad to see them open at 11:00 p. m. on this Saturday night considering Google maps say they'reclosed. Read more
We are in Folkston doing the train watching thing and found this place by asking around. MAN OH MAN are we happy we found... it! Serving sizes are HUGE, and prices are totally reasonable given the amount of food! Not one of us was able to finish ourmeal! More for us to have later!! The pulled pork was absolutely melt in your mouth delicious, and the sauce was to die for! Ihad mine without a bunch due to a gluten allergy, but my husband had a sandwich that was so large, he could barely hold it. Always enjoy there Boston butt , didnt have any tonight. Tried the slab of ribs, seasoning and smoke were really good, but not... very tender. I enjoyed them but definitely need a longer cook so they fall off the bone. Read more
