We went here during our 10 year wedding anniversary vacation, and it was so good, that we came back a second night for the... tiramisu and live entertainment at the bar. The grilled octopus, red snapper orieganta and lobster ravioli were amazing, aswere all of the staff. Highly recommend, 5 stars all the way around. Read more
Excellent! Awesome evening - great service by Mike, and very enjoyable live piano music (& singing favorite tunes). We sat at... one of the high tops so we could enjoy the music.The salads were generous and I loved the arugula & fennel w/orange—wonderful. The almond crusted salmon was perfect & flavorful accompanied by good roasted potatoes & crisp freshvegetables. The gnocchi in the homemade bolognese was delicious as well as the chocolate mousse cake to top it off! Highlyrecommend and the complimentary valet parking is a welcome touch! The food was okay. Our server was very pleasant but didn't have a clue of what good service is supposed to be. We got a... glass of wine after our food was served; we had ordered a bottle of wine, not a glass. The chairs were made of cheap vinyl, andthe rest of the restaurant decor was not very attractive; we had fake dusty flowers on our table. Casa Calabria, located inside Ocean Manor resort on the Galt Ocean Mile, is a gem of a true Italian Restaurant enjoyed by we... loyal locals as well as tourists to our area. I strongly suggest you make reservations as it is always full, especially on aSaturday evening during high season. You can only valet park, and upon arrival, the hostess will validate your ticket, so only atip is necessary for the valet. We enjoyed a delicious, beautifully prepared dinner out on the terrace with our ocean view.Giovanni was our waiter, classy, attentive, experienced and fun, he added greatly to our dining experience as we spoke in bothItalian and English. Crusty, warm, heavenly rustic bread was served immediately. We started with the most tender and flavorfulgrilled octopus that brought me right back to the Amalfi Coast. The linguine frutti di mare was perfectly al dente, and the fishand shellfish were delicious. My risotto ai mare e monti was exceptional, with shrimp, mushrooms and a hint of truffle! We endedwith tiramisu, but it was so good I dove in before snapping a photo! This is a “must do” dining experience if you arevisiting Fort Lauderdale. Excellent food. The family recipes are stellar. However, I don't think I will return. Something is missing in this place and I... think it's the ambience. Yes, it's on the ocean but I don't think the restaurant has been touched since the inception. TheRicotta Gnocchi and the Lamb Chops were fantastic! Actually everything we tried was terrific. Read more
