Came back to visit for the holidays and went with a friend to this highly recommended tavern. It did not disappoint. The display... and layout of the place had a Kentucky and old fashioned feel with the presence of modern feel as well; it was a great balancebetween the two. The food was quality. The cheese sticks for an appetizer was well worth the investment. The light and fluffycrust encompassing the warm and tasty cheese inside was fantastic. The roasted carrots had a texturized taste that balanced softand chewy with hard and tough. The New York Strip was moist, decadent, and savory; I highly recommend getting it when visiting. The Warm BlackBerry Cobbler was out of this world for dessert. The bold and rich taste was just enough to not be overwhelmingbut add a flavorful experience. Our waitress was excellent as well. From the moment we were seated to when we left, it was animmaculate experience, 11/10 recommend. Read more

Bartender, Brett, was so nice and accommodating. Food was delicious, great bourbon selection. And the history of the restaurant... made it even better. Incredible find on my business travels! Read more

This is a must visit restaurant. It has been in business since 1921in the Cincinnati area. It is a semiformal atmosphere but... several visitors were wearing shorts and tee-shirts. The food is very good (I had the halibut with cold slaw, green beans, andonion rings). The service is excellent and the facility is clean and well maintained. Read more

This was a first time visit. The waiter said if you haven't been here, get the onion rings. We had four people in our party... and a half order would have been plenty. We each had 1 or 1.5 large onion rings. Maybe I should say very large. Staff wasnice but did ask if we had a reservation this may be recommended. Clean, quick and food was tasty. Read more

Our server was Lisa and I believe she was having a bad night. The service was soso and at 630 you were out of specials. We had... the onion rings and fried green tomatoes which were ok and for main course walleye and fried chicken. The fish was served coldbut chicken was good. Dessert chocolate layered cheesecake was awesome. Read more

An unexpected and pleasant experience. Flew in for a business trip and looked for a place nearby. Found this place and I'm happy... I did. The building is beautifully decorated. The service was prompt, knowledgeable, and kind. We ordered the "world famousonion rings". They were delicious! super thick cuts that melt in your mouth. We also got the open faced roast beef and coddinner. The roast beef was so tender and flavorful. The cod was cooked to perfection. I cannot wait to be back in the area toeat here again! Read more

My Dad has been telling me about their onion rings and cheese sticks, just for a quick little bite to eat while on the... road. The portions and size of the food itself is great. The service was outstanding as well. I wish I remembered the serversname so I could give him some recognition for a great experience. I used to deliver all of the beef they use back in the 90sbut had never eaten here. Very good experience and we'll be back soon for a "real" meal other than just a couple of appetizers. Read more
