What a great treat to trip across Stewby's on the first visit to Ft Walton Beach. It is one of those places that has stood the... test of time...a place that is nothing to look at from the road, but serves GREAT seafood dishes inside. It has some of thelightest, crispy fried seafood crusts that I have ever tasted. The baked beans and potato salad were fresh and full of flavor. Worth the stop! Friendly service, fast and delicious. This isn?t any place fancy but that?s OK because they deliver in all the... most important aspects! If you?re looking for a simple meal that fills you- this is it! We?re from WI so we don?t have access tomost menu items (or at least to good quality options). Been here for a week and I've eaten here three times! Once on the steamer side, had crab legs and shrimp. Twice on the fried... side with shrimp, the best crab cake I've ever had and oysters. The food is amazing, portion sizes are more than ample (hadleftovers for lunch the next day all 3 times) and even though there is always a waiting line it moves quickly and efficiently.If you haven't been here I highly recommend it! Hands-down, best food on Okaloosa Island. The cheese grits were some of the best I?ve ever had! Solid gumbo, solid fried shrimp,... DELICIOUS fries, and the crab cake was delightful. After reading so many positive reviews, I looked forward to taking my family there. None of us were disappointed and none of us... left hungry! Does this place serve the best tasting seafood? Maybe not .. but it's really good. The grilled shrimp IS among thebest I've had but the Calamari was average. The fried shrimp is more than good enough to eat, as are the hush puppies andfries. A ship captain of a local charter recommended this place and wasn't kidding when he said we'd get plenty of (delicious) food!... The order taker was very nice and helped me choose my sides. This ace was amazing for our large family of 11. Quick service great prices for being a half mile from our condo. The AC was... super cold on a hot day food was fresh and offered indoor and outdoor seating. The one lady at the cash register wasexceptionally knowledgeable friendly and helpful as it was our first time. I highly recommend for getting some fresh seafoodwithout all the waiting and fancyness.
