I?ve been here a few time and the food has always been amazing but today I had to give star them for amazing service. My wife... has highly allergic to soy. All their salad dressing ended up having soy in it. We were not upset and just ordered some oliveoil. They surprised her with a homemade vinegrette. Today is her birthday and we didn?t even tell them. This was just amazingservice and made her day! Come out to Alto Grado and try out their pizzas and don?t forget to leave a great tip! These guysdeserve it! Read more

One of the last pizza places on my list of "Fort Wayne Pizza Places" to try. Artisan pizzas with what appears to be wood fired... crust. I ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch. Now, I wanted to absolutely adore this pizza, and don't get me wrong, it was reallygood, it just wasn't what you think of when you think pizza, you know cozy and inviting- "Stay for the rest of the ball game".However, it did meet the criteria of "Artisan". So if that's your thing, they're perfect. The breadsticks were done a littledifferently than usual, with a crispy Woodfired texture outside, mostly soft inside and light grated parmesan sprinkled on top. They were good, and came with a side of marinara. Overall most of their pizzas will only set you back $10-$13. Definitely wortha try. Read more

Loved the pizza flavor and toppings but I wish they cooked their pizza a little longer. When the cashier/cook took my money and... said my pizza would be out in 5 minutes I was surprised. It definitely got soggy fast but again, the flavor was great. Servicewas good too! Slow day for them but that seems to be the Ft. Wayne vibe on a Thursday. Read more

We were really impressed. The pizza took a little while to get to us, but that's because each pie is made to order. My Queen... pizza had excellent flavor and texture. One of the workers took our trays for us once we were finished, which I thought was anice extra level of service. Read more

First time and I was not impressed. 4pm on a Saturday. Tables outside were almost full but completely empty inside. When we... walked in the girl at the counter didn't even great us..she just said that it would be at least 5 minutes before she could cometake our order. Bad vibes from the start. Then, a customer came in and complained about their $14 pizza not having enough sauceon it. She argued with him. After he returned outside to his table the girl working mocked the customer in front of us. Finally,a much more pleasant employee came from the back and took our order. We got a basic pepperoni and a couple salads. We waitedabout 30 minutes and the pizza finally came out. They forgot our salads. I guess they had been sitting and no one brought themout to us. No apology from the employee. Instead she seemed irritated with us. The customer who had previously complained wasright. The pizza had hardly any sauce on it. The salad wasn't very good, too sweet for my taste. Overall, the pizza was OK butservice was lacking. I spent the entire time wishing we would have went next door to Mercado. I won't be back. Amazing deep dish Detroiter! The peppadew peppers were just right balance of sweet and spicy. Crust was crispy but thick and... chewy, not too heavy with cheese. And the tomato sauce tasted like they just came off the vine. Well worth the 25 minute wait. Will be back again! Read more

Today On On Forks To Forks , I went to Alto Grado to try the #savorfortwayne menu. I decided instead of breadsticks and a... dessert pizza, to just get to different styles of pizza instead. Pictured here, we have the Fun Guy, the Carné, and as a bonus, the owner, Rick decided I'd better try his Detroiter, Detroit style pizza. The first two are wood fire oven baked, so 600° and ready in less than 3 minutes. The Detroit style goes into a fantastic massive pizza oven. They all had such differentcharacteristics. The wood fire ones are very light with a thin sauce and then a good covering of toppings. Loved them both. WhenI was getting ready to go, Rick told me he had something for me but it wasn't ready yet. It was a fantastic Detroit style pizza.Tons of sauce with a totally different flavor of profile from the Wood-Fired ones. This one has tomatoes from California alongwith some oregano mixed in and the ricotta cheese piped in on top. My initial taste buds told me I was eating lasagna on acrust. Such a good mix of flavors. Did you have a way to make gluten-free and vegan if that is your way. They do also have afood truck that operates during warmer temperatures. I have a feeling I'll be back very soon to try some more. #onforkstoforks Read more
