This place is so cute and such a throw back! Come here and eat. The food is cheap and it's air conditioned inside. I'm a... vegetarian and was able to get a garden dog and it was so delicious. I also got a strawberry lemon cake shake. I will say, alarge is huge. I was going to share it with my fiance and it's definitely too big for both of us. I wish we had this place backwhere I'm from. Amazing service at this location. The gentleman calling orders was top notch, friendly, funny and welcoming. Made the kids... smile. Worth a stop for a unique diner experience. Fries are good and always fresh, burgers are above average for fast food. Notquite as good as I remember from the original Chicago location but still fun to experience. Read more
Excellent location with fast & friendly customer service both Inside and out. Has a classic 50?s vibe with plenty of options for... everyone. Good food and excellent staff! Loved the venue - 50s diner vibe from the decor to the music! It's an order at the counter place... and stand and wait for your food but other than that we enjoyed our experience there! A staff member came by and bussed ourtable for us which was very sweet! I had the Greek chicken salad and it was very good. The only downside was they have plasticutensils and it was hard to cut the chicken into bite sized pieces. Husband had a cheeseburger, hot dog and the crinkle fries.The fries were perfectly salted and very yummy. The burger was fresh and had lots of nice fresh toppings. The hot dog wasdelicious and not too salty. If you get everything on it it's basically a Chicago dog. Can't wait to go back and try theportobello mushroom burger! Read more

Missed my chance several years ago when visiting Chicago to try Portillo's. Was messing around on the internet and seen where... they had expanded to Ft Wayne. Went with the 2 dogs, fries, and a drink. It was very filling, tasty, warm and met expectations.The building is impressive as well, very retro if you're into that kind of stuff. Really great tasting dogs! I got the chili and cheese dog and the chocolate eclair cake. All around delicious. Not a fan of the... poppy seed bun, though it didn't take away from the taste (I just didn't like the mess of seeds that fell off the bun).
