We have been visiting this place since couple of years. It?s never been a disappointment until last night. Everything was good... until my 7 year old daughter and her mother got burnt from the oil spill when chef tried to fry the vegetables. He was not evensorry after seeing her crying. It seemed to us like he was not even interested in what was going on and kept making food withhigh flames. Everything he made smelled and tasted burnt. It was a horrible experience overall. Read more
Experience didn't start off well with rude hostess. Had reservations prior to arriving and they wouldn't seat us until our... entire party arrived which they didn't tell us (until I overheard the hostess talking to our 13 year old daughter about ourtable instead of to the adults). I was then told they could only hold our spot for a limited time and they would have to skipus. I asked if our table was ready and they said they didn't have a spot for us yet. So how could we be the ones holding thingsup then? Finally seated and I sat in a soaking wet seat. Waitress (Kathleen) likely noticed my frustration (ok, maybe anger atthis point) and did a very good job diffusing the situation. Food was very good (especially the steak and the scallops) otherthan the lobster tail (so save your money and skip the lobster). Service was rushed. Also very limited wine list. Read more
Our family came to celebrate the end of the school year. I asked my kids for their review. Here are some of their... comments: Delicious food, high-quality entertainment, beautiful building-- you have to try it! One million percent wonderfulbecause the chef was entertaining, and the food was delicious! Five stars. Service was excellent and entertaining, food wasdelicious. We celebrated some birthdays at Takaoka of Japan. The staff and service were incredible! Chef was outstanding and our server was... always refilling our drinks. We never had to ask for a refill. We will definitely be revisiting. I highly recommend this forany visitors of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Read more
Everything was great, the food the service etc. the only issue was there was so much smoke it made me start coughing. I know... I?m more sensitive since I?m asthmatic but I think they need a better ventilation system. You could see the smoke in the airwhen we were in the waiting area and throughout our meal. It can?t be healthy to be breathing that in all day for their staffand it made me uncomfortable. Read more
