I went to bed last night already thinking of breakfast. So, a quick search of nearby options and scrolling through reviews, I... choose this restaurant. Walking in, it feels warm, like home, the people and staff definitely boosted that initial feeling. Bigmenu with lots of great options for breakfast. I ordered the Dixie Omelet with a ham slice, and a pancake. A cup of coffee and aglass of tea came quickly. It didn't take too long for the food to arrive and everything looked picture perfect. The Omelet wascooked perfectly and the ham was delicious. Then there was the pancake. I don't like drenching pancakes in syrup or any othertoppings very often. I will typically tear a piece off taste the pancake itself. This one, was probably the best I've ever had.Fluffy yet had a light crust, the interior was extremely flavorful, and I finished it without every needing any condiments. Orutensils. Great breakfast! Food was good. The place was very busy but the servers handled it well
Ate lunch, chicken fried chicken,mashed potatoes and piano beans....delicious and served nice and hot. My hun had the... meatloaf,mp and sweet corn... which was also very delicious.???? I've been wanting to try this place for years! When my Aunt came into town, I thought it would be the perfect time to try this... place out. We had a group of 8 and when the host told the waitress how many were in our party, she immediately rolled her eyes.That should've been our clue to leave. My SO and I went here on a random Thursday night. We were unaware that the restaurant closed at 8:pm but it didn't matter to the... staff. Everyone we encountered was inviting, and was focused on us having a go time and meal. Our server (Linda?) was insistentthat we don't feel rushed and take our time to enjoy our experience. We had a full meal with appetizers and dessert and weenjoyed every bite. The pot roast is a classic and the Dixie House nailed it. I havent even got my food yet and im leaving a negitive review. The person seating us was ugh. Just the look and demeanor was... ugh. The lady waiting on me and wife wife has the same vibe about her too. Maybe from being overworked or underpaid i have noclue but ive got a bad vibe since i walked in. Hopefully the food is good.
