Vastly different each time we went, and we probably won't be back. A shame as it's so close to home. Sushi was not fresh. The... ginger on the plate was not fresh either. The Moscow mule my wife raved about our first visit was very bad on the second visit.Service on our first visit was incredibly slow, with kids food coming out after our main entrees, and sushi 10 minutes afterthat. I got beef & broccoli and it was incredibly salty, (nearly inedible). Second visit I got beef ramen. It was miso broth, udon noodles and three strips of beef jerky, (only way I can describe the beef). The beef was bland and nearly impossible tocut- with utensils or teeth. I initially was going to rate Bonsai Fortville at two stars, as my wife liked her crab rangoon rollshe got both times, but my food was not good either time. I also noticed the establishment plays christian rock- certainlywithin their right- but nothing I'd care to listen to while dining. Read more

Food was quick delicious service was on top of everything. Very reasonably priced. Only wish is I had extra general tsos sauce... and a bigger stomach. The big Rangoon roll was absolutely the seller for me. Read more

Yesterday was the first time I had eaten Bonsai! The menu had a lot to offer and the servings were great! I particularly... enjoyed the Lo Mein - The take out service was great and the coworkers upfront were very friendly and professional too! I willreturn now that I have discovered a great local Asian Restaurant! Read more

My partner and I were looking for something new to eat in the area. We saw on google maps Bonsai and we enjoyed the decor and... feel, but we ordered the veggie roll- which was 8 dollars and the veggie dinner. The veggie roll was wonderful but the veggiedinner I sent back because it was just veg in sweet and sour sauce. Expensive veggie roll and the owner apologized for the wrongsauce but didn’t comp us. Left a lot to be desired but it’s new - I really like the feel and the wait staff. The sushi wasexcellent but overpriced. And I recommend ordering a main with meat. Read more

A delectable Asian eatery where the staff is as bubbly as their bubble tea. The waitress was very attentive in making sure we... had everything we needed for our dining experience. I had the passion of fire. Tuna fried sushi as what was advertisedeverything was promised. A wonderful taste of heat inside of a roll with some crunch to it. I would highly recommend checkingout this restaurant if you're in the mood for some Asian cuisine . Read more

One of the best sushi places we’ve tried! Tim was so kind and Bonsai Fortville is a beautiful restaurant! Pina Colada was on... point and they have a variety of sushi and so many entrees to choose from. They even have an outdoor seating in the back andfront. I was able to bring my dog and they gave him a treat and a bowl of water. Our server was great! 5 star customer service.Would definitely recommend! Read more

Pretty good sushi for small town Indiana! They offered Ramune, Japanese carbonated soda that comes with a marble, classic roles... plus their own spin on a table side flambé sushi- three offered and I chose the Secret roll. It had a grilled taste, and waspretty good. I could have done without the sauce, which tasted somewhat like BBQ sauce-which I could do without on sushi. Wealso ordered the 317 (delish), Crown Royal (a fav), and the Cuckoo (good) rolls. My daughter tried the orange chicken. It wascooked well and had a nice flavor. Overall, worth a return visit. For this girl who used to live in So Flo by the ocean, however, I was disappointed in the boat option. For 3 people, it was $90 and only comes with California and Shrimp rolls, Nigeriand Sashimi. Boats I have had other places are around $30 cheaper and come with chefs specialty rolls, as well as nigeri andsashimi. Better to buy rolls individually here instead of the boat. Read more
