First time in Mirchi Indian Kitchen and it's a place YOU must go to! It's the cutest spot with absolutely amazing food, great... service, and overall a neat experience! This place is great! The ambience is very welcoming and charming and the staff is reallyfriendly. You can tell making the customers happy is their TOP priority and of course with service of authentic Indian food. Ihad tandoori chicken, chilli chicken and biryani with a couple of Indian beers and I really enjoyed every single bite of thedish. My first visit has placed this one on top of my list of favorite Indian restaurants. Top notch food, elegant atmosphere, and friendly staff - Highly recommend, I am definitely going back! Read more

We enjoyed the ambience and tasty food. Place is very clean, modern and spacious. Plates and cutlery was of good quality. Tea... was also served in proper cup and plate. Lata was our server and she was super friendly. We will come back again. Read more

We had ordered food recently from this restaurant. Curry had no taste but still okay to eat at least eatable/chewable but there... NAN bread was very horrible. It was very tight and chewy. We had a friends came over so we were very disappointed to offer themthis food. Never going to order the food from here again. Read more

Excellent food at a great price. The restaurant is great at all things South Indian, especially the biryani (both veg and non... veg). I go here almost every week and never get bored of it! Read more

Loved all the dishes we ordered. The biryani was a little dry but good. Chicken sukka and curry were awesome.

Not sure why this place has some poor reviews but my experience here was pretty great. Food: The food here is really good and... fresh. Service: The waiter was very friendly and helped us with the menu. I ordered couple of biryanis and 2 starters. The foodwas served within short time and tasted very good. Read more

I went for dinner here. Let me start with what’s good here - masala tea. Perhaps this place has good biriyani but I chose the... wrong choice and went with chaat. They were horrible, every one of them we had. The samosa chaat had yogurt! And Pav Bhaji wasawful too, the bhaji was just mixed veg curry. I would never visit this place again. Totally disappointed. Writing this long overdue review - simply don't understand the negative feedback! This is about the most authentic Indian food... I have had in the US, certainly at par with offerings in the NY/NJ/South Bay areas and definitely better than most in the SanMateo area. We have been ordering from them since the day they opened as Pastries and Chat, then changed to Mirchi. We havenever been disappointed by their quality. We do find the food a tad bit spicy, but we started ordering 'mild' and itsperfect. Some reviewers note that the prices have gone up lately. Yes, they may have (as is the case with most otherrestaurants in the area), but I'll gladly pay the extra ~$1-2/dish for their unbeatable quality, authenticity, and generousportions. A special shout out to their catering team - we ordered for our son's rice ceremony and all our guests simply lovedthe food. To decide the outlet, we did a simple test - we ordered the exact same to-go meal from three 'highly-rated' Indianjoints in the San Mateo area, and from Mirchi (they just changed from Pastries and Chat, and only had few reviews/ratings). Thequality/quantity/price from Mirchi simply blew every other offering out of the water! During our catering order, the ownerRaghu helped us design our menu and portions. We wanted to have a fish dish, so the chef went out of his way to create a spicyfish appetizer (Masala Fish Fry), which was a huge hit with our guests. The reviews were so positive that this dish is now partof Mirchi's regular menu! It is also the one item we sadly didn't click pictures. Read more
