This was my first time at Hillside Fish House. I love seafood and always wanted an authentic seafood joint in Winona. All I had... to do was drive across the WI bridge and I was in seafood paradise. I have been missing out. I had the colossal shrimp withgarlic mashed potatoes and cottage cheese (topped with a sliced red onion). Fantastic 10/10. Service 10/10 (Lindsey, you weregreat). Ambiance 10/10. So glad I gave this place a try. I will be back soon! Read more

Well... this place had great ratings, must have been a different season when these patrons visited. Some things to note on... Friday and through the weekends if you sit at the bar you cannot order food and you must pay your tab before being seated. Thehostess, who came to seat us once our table was ready had a little attitude when it took some time to pay the tab, the bartenderhad to take the card payment to the back, so it took a minute. She brought me to our table while my friend waited and she tossedthe menus on the table and walked away. Our waitress, however, had a great attitude and was attentive. Now for the food, clamchowder was by far the worst I ever had. It tasted sweet, thick, not creamy, flour thick, and did not taste anything clam. Iordered the shrimp and crab alfredo. Seafood should not taste like seafood if fresh, I could smell and taste the seafood. It didnot taste like your traditional alfredo. The building needs updating and for the price I paid, I would have rather eaten at RedLobster. Read more

What a great dining experience! Relaxed atmosphere. They seem to be busy during the weekend but not unbearably so. Amanda at the... bar was a welcome conversationalist while waiting. The waitstaff was pleasant and attentive, and apologized for any wait. Thefood was well worth the trip. I only have two requests - raw oysters on the half shell and Italian seasoning at the table to gowith the olive oil and balsamic. Read more

I had the best shrimp of my life! Get the seafood platter and upgrade from jumbo shrimp to colossal. It’s worth the extra... money. Seriously, they were like lobster tails! I think Webster’s should put this picture next to the word, “succulent”in their dictionary. Read more

The clam chowder was thick with large pieces of clam and good seasoning. The parmesan-almond encrusted Walleye special was baked... to perfection. The scallops were excellent as was the grilled salmon. Service was good although there was a delay in gettingour entrees. But the wait was worth it. The only negative is the wooden seats on the wooden booths could use padding. Read more

Definitely would order fish next time. Ordered the tips and Ordered them medium, they were well done. My salad was very little... lettuce with more garnishes than anything. Willing to try again. Read more

Went here with my dad, very nice place which was wheel chair accessible. I had the fish and a baked potato but what surprised me... was the fried frog legs! I am from MD/DC area and if we had gotten the food there it would have been 100$ plus bill but here itwas decent priced with great food. Recommend hands down to anyone. Read more

We loved our night! The food was delicious, and served hot! I loved my Bloody Mary, too. Our server was fantastic. Save room... for an ice cream drink! We'll be back! Read more
