Wow! What a great place! We looked up reviews on Google about good restaurants, and we chose Hwy 55. Not from the area, we were... surprised by the hospitality of the people. We walked in, were greeted by all the employees. My wife got the Pimentocheeseburger, my son got the Americana Cheeseburger, and I got the cheesesteak. All were excellent! Later, Angie, our server,brought us samples of the custard. Let me tell you, I had to buy a shake! Awesome! We will definitely come back, great people,great service! Read more

I wanted some lemonade but needed... something sugar free and our waitress fixed me an unsweetened lemonade that I could add artificial sweetener too!!? The prices have increased since changing owners. Portions have also decreased. The portion didn?t even fill the bun.

We?ve eaten here a few times. Always trying different menu items. On this last visit. We found the portions were very small. I... know costs have risen. But 4 onion rings, 8 little tater tots? Had to keep asking our waitress for condiments. I finally got upand got our own straw for behind the counter. They were not very busy. The gravy on the hamburger stake was mostly grease. Likethey didn?t stir it or drain the oil. HORRIBLE! We?ll go back. They are usually more attentive. But the size of the portionswill probably not change. With labor and supply costs going up. The food was a little greasier than I like, but overall it was good, decent portion sizes, clean, and easy to social distance. ... We found this on the side of the road as we were driving through North Carolina and it was a solid win for a quick lunch. Thecharm of the retro vibe was fun and the service staff was cordial.
