I was in Indianapolis on business and I wanted to find an authentic brick oven pizzeria. Richard's was about 20 minutes south of... where I was staying in historic Franklin. I've never heard of it and it was out of the way, but the pictures of the communitylooked nice and the food looked impressive. So I figured I'd give it a shot. I was not disappointed. Everything is amazing! Thefood, the staff, the aesthetic of the building... I was absolutely blown away! To top it off, they had a beautifully lit, gardenpatio area in back, next to an actual reflecting garden that you could walk through and enjoy. The only thing I regret aboutthis trip is that I didn't make it earlier in the day when I could have walked around Franklin and taken in more of the beautyof this small community. It's shops, it's architecture, it's people... This is obviously the kind of place that deserves to be adestination for those who really appreciate what a community of artists and entrepreneurs can be. In what little time I wasthere I found myself inspired. So if you get the chance to visit, take it. You will not be disappointed. Read more

Such a wonderful environment with an incredibly friendly staff. The food was amazing, starting with the Garlic Spinners, all the... way to the cheese tortellini. The cherry on top was Hannah and her ability to make us feel right at home. Will definitely beback because of the staff and the food! Read more

Some of the best pasta I've had from a restaurant, make sure you get an order of garlic knots. Service was great, food was... prompt and the prices were fair. If the beer selection was a little more diverse it would have been a 5 star review. Definitelyworth the visit, won't be my last Read more

We had been really looking forward to trying this place as I have lived in Naples, Italy and have eaten numerous brick oven... pizza's on the east coast. We arrived early and were the second group to be seated. After which about another 7 couples/groupsarrived. We were immediately seated and asked what we would like to drink. We asked for water and told the waitress this was ourfirst visit. She quickly went over the menu and said she would be right back. After watching couples who arrived after us havingtheir orders taken and in fact 2 couples were served food my wife said she was done and leaving. We had been seated since we gotour water over 20 minutes. Our waitress took another person's order who arrived after us and also served drinks to anothercouple who also arrived later. Sad because from the reviews this seems to be a good place. Will not recommend nor return. Pleasestep up your customer service especially in today's economy... Read more

I don?t even know where to start. We had our rehearsal dinner in the outdoor garden at Richards and it was an absolute dream!... The atmosphere is a 10/10, the service was outstanding and as always the food was AMAZING. This is one of our favoriterestaurants in Franklin, to get to share it with our friends and family from out of town was so nice! I don?t think it couldhave been any more perfect! Thank you so much to their entire team! Read more

Met some friends here for a birthday dinner. Chose because of location, reviews & menu. We were not disappointed! Get here... early as it fills quick. The food was excellent-- all 4 of us ordered something different & all enjoyed our meals. Service wasgreat! We will definitely be back & definitely recommend to others. Just be warned--it does get hot inside because of thebrick oven--dress accordingly when it's HOT outside! Read more

Pros: -kids meals are appropriate size and fairly priced -cheese tortellini is delicious (according to kids and husband) -garlic... bread pinwheels are yummy -Gluten free pizza crust has no extra upcharge -Friendly staff and quirky environment Cons: -Sideappetizer salad was disappointing size given how $$ it is -The staff, while nice, was not educated on if their house vinaigrettewas gluten free or not -The pizza, both normal and gluten free, was surprisingly disappointing. Lacking flavor and floppycrust -The gluten free crust was floppy in the middle and burnt on the outer edges. When I brought it up, they did offer toreplace it and cook shorter time but given how floppy it was in the middle already, I declined since it would only be worse inthe middle -The garlic pinwheels are overpriced at $6 for 2 (normal garlic bread size) Probably will not be coming back giventhe pasta options seem much better than the brick oven pizza, and sadly there are no gluten free pasta options. I really wantedto like this! Bill for 2 kids and 2 adults was just shy of $50 before tip. Have had much better meals for that or less for ourfamily. Read more
