This Italian restaurant is quaint with a homey atmosphere and great service! The steak seemed a bit under seasoned, but the... penny with tomato sauce was great! The bread was nice, but small portions. The most amazing part, which is the best around wasthe thin, homemade fettuccine. The Alfredo sauce was light and the noodles were almost velvety, they were so paper-thin. Allmeals are large and room for leftovers. Really good food, it would have been perfect if the waitress wasn?t so rude! She argued with my mother in law saying she never... asked for onions on her pizza and that she asked for tomato?s lol but she hates tomato?s so obviously she didn?t order tomato?son her pizza. either way the waitress should never argue with the customer because no matter what they are always right even ifwrong. My mother in law sweet women kindly picked them off and left it be cuz maybe she was having a bad day and just had amoment.. and giving benefit of doubt. and as we are sitting there eating, we watch the waitress argue with another customer!!!about the order!!!! We were shocked... they were allergic to what ever she put in the pizza and told them to eat it anyway. Shewas an older women with graying blond hair with an attitude like if we are a burden for her. The food is really good. It?s a cute Italian family style place. It?s clean and comfy. I highly recommend the garlic bread with... cheese. The price is right and the portions are perfect. The Rome Restaurant is the perfect small town Italian family run dining and drinking oasis. The best pizza within a 50 mile... radius. Daily specials. Food is delicious, portions are huge. Bartender Karen, is warm and welcoming and will never leave yourglass empty. Bar area is loud and lively. This is the perfect place to meet family or friends for a bite and a drink. Read more
Being from Franklin the Rome has been around for ages! And I have to say they're doing a really good job keeping up with things.... They certainly have changed and many of us that have been going there since we were babies talk about it. But the bottom line isthey make really good Italian food! We went there for lunch and had excellent service! The waitress was beyond fabulous. Notsure how long she's been serving there but she was really good for the Rome and for our luncheon. Had the cheesy Lasagna with meatball. Took it to go. Waited 15 minutes and had a glass of wine in the bar. The host and... bartenders seemed like they did not want to be there. The kitchen folks were great. I am a canoli maniac, so I added one to myorder. Crazy Delicious! Truly one of the better I've ever had. The restraunt had some charm, but the whole place could use someupdating, especially the lounge. Read more
The food was excellent, portions were large, service was superb, not only was our server great but the busboy was excellent, he... came by numerous times clearing dishes even made our to go trays! My only complaint was the chairs are very very uncomfortable!My husband and I had to walk outside in betwen appetizers and dinner because of the seats. Read more
