We went on Thanksgiving. The first store we went to at rt 4 and the by-pass 4 had a 2 hr wait so we went to the Middletown... store. Service was a little slow but with it being a holiday that's expected. The staff that was there very pleasant and polite.Food was delicious as usual. Lots of leftovers. We enjoyed our time there. This was a pickup order and the food was okay, eggs were scramble or something but not over easy. Did not get my bacon, sweet... potatoes were burnt. Very small portions. Normally have nothing bad to say but to many things went wrong with this order and itis not even a Monday. Read more
First time to this location and never again. Our waitress was super nice. The rest of the staff.. rude and disgusting. Watched... one waitress keep rubbing her nose, never washed her hands. One waitress seating people just didn't even care. She wouldn't waiton the elderly couple she was seating and rushed to a table. She was rude and didn't even care about her table having a badexperience. Their food was bad and she didn't even try to make it right. Just said "I'll get it taken off". The tables werefilthy, the dividers in there were covered in food splatter and the register area was dirty. The shelf where the candy wasfilled with dirt and nasty stuff that looks like it hasn't been wiped in weeks. The floors were disgusting. The manager justlooked like he didn't care. All around horrible filthy restaurant. The staff was just standing around and no one sat us for abit. They all saw us and looked over. But let us stand there. There was maybe 3 tables in there. They had plenty of time toclean and seat people. Don't waste your time. The food is not farm fresh. The pancakes were good. But the salad was wilted andthe meat was bland. Visited 9/25/2022 We visited Sunday morning before the rush, but the wait staff already seemed overwhelmed and impatient. Our... party of 4 was seated in a booth that wasn't really clean, and my menu was actually greasy and sticky to the point that I had topull the pages apart. Fortunately, my friend had hand wipes to clean my hands and wipe the table. I ordered this menu item:"Quaker® steel-cut oatmeal topped with wild blueberries, blueberry sauce and fresh banana slices. Served with pecans, freshmilk and a side of freshly baked banana nut bread." My request to substitute fruit for the side order of banana bread with mymeal was greeted with a terse, "the fruit comes with, anyway." But my meal came with neither fruit nor banana bread. In fact,there were no pecans or fresh milk, either, but I was afraid to ask the waitress anything more. The bowl of oatmeal wasovercooked, but the thawed blueberries and 1/4 of a fresh banana made it at least palatable. My husband ordered an omelettewith cheddar cheese and peppers; he was served a spinach and mushroom omelette. By the time the corrected omelette arrived(which was a good size and tasted good), our friends were nearly finished with their meals. Our friends had eggs and a skillet,which were okay, but neither of which were anything to write home about. Overall, mediocre food and a rude, unhelpful servermade this a disappointing outing. Entered an waited for someone to come over to greet as they all looked but ignored. Food was fine and service fine..went to... check out and pay bill and again, no one wanted to come up..was told later cash or credit and they can't open cash drawer butsame person come up and Opened cash drawer later.. responsibility has not entered this establishment. My fruit plate had strawberries on it that were slimy and rotten. When I took them off my plate the waitress sent over the... manager and she brought back fresh strawberries. My daughter's grilled chicken had been burnt so they brought out half of thatpiece which was still quite crispy and brown and said we brought that out so she could have something till another one is done.I told the waitress she wouldn't eat it because it was too done. Long story short at checkout waitress stomped off when I askedher to take of for the fruit cup she had incorrectly charged us for. So manager came over to check me out and put her finger inmy face and said I had been rude the entire time in the restaurant.... So much for customer service. I asked for the higher upmanager and told him the waitress was smiling in the back while his manager yelled at me and he said what do you want her to dofrown... Won't ever go back here food was not good and staff as well as management don't know how to behave. Gave one star onlybecause you can't leave negative stars. Read more
Cold Coffee at Bob Evans??!! And not the new one on the menu. We entered about an hour or so before close and were seated rather... quickly; however, the waitress was rather soft spoken and forgot to mention that the hot coffee was out before pouring the coldcups of old coffee. We placed our order and proceeded to wait for about 30-45 minutes before any sort of bread or food wouldarrive. During that period of time, there were only two other families in the restaurant and we quickly noticed that neitherfamily looked too happy with their orders and the one directly next to us were actively complaining about bad lettuce and bacon-the second family just left frowning in small conversation. Once both families had left, our bread arrived at our table which weassumed our food would be soon to follow. In reality, it took about 10 minutes after the bread was delivered for our food andappetizer to be delivered. The pancakes were fine; however, the alleged Sunshine Skillet and one of the Avocado omelets had afew issues. The inside of the omelet was cool along with the hash browns(which were still starch-white) and the Sunshine Skilletwas missing the sausage and cheese. There were also a few issues with the Two cheese pot roast dip sandwich, which came withcold steamed broccoli and without the gravy dip and the appetizer chewy and cold. Overall, in thirty plus years of going to BobEvans, this has been the first time I have ever gotten food that was just bad from the chain. We had the feeling that themanager just wanted us to leave as she had already closed out the cash register and refused to let us pay for at least thepancakes that were made correctly, which was a downside since we were also going to purchase a banana bread to go but decided tojust drop the argument. Please know that we left the server a hefty tip and did not expect a fully compensated meal. Read more
