I'd never have guessed that some of the best Jamaican food I've had would be found in Frederick Maryland. I stayed in town for... two days and ate here both days! My order was the jerk chicken sandwich with side of Mac and cheese, and peas and rice with thebrown curry gravy. Everything was excellent and fresh. This place is a hidden gem! Their sorrel is absolutely delicious. They have an assortment of beef and chicken patties which are... the best I have eaten. Their menu has a great variety of jerk chicken, stew chicken, oxtails, braised steak, etc with delicioussides. The place is clean and the staff is so friendly. Read more
First time trying this place and I'm glad I did. I ordered the goat dinner portion with white rice, which comes with 2 sides. ... Collard greens and veggies. This is without a doubt some of the best food I?ve ever had. I love Jamaican food so I always try restaurants around the area... and this one is my fave between MD, VA and WV. The greens make me never wanna eat regular food again!! Haha SOOOO yummy!! Bothgentleman working were sweet as can be. The portions are quite large and the food is made quickly and hot. Amazing! I was looking for a black owned business to support & a friend in the area recommended Jerk & Jive East location since... we were going to be grabbing it to go. I called ahead, received great customer service (Zion I believe answered the phone) Theorder was ready when we got there I was able to pay quickly. Each meal was individually cling wrapped so none of the juicesleaked. It was flavorful & I'd go back often if I lived near by. **We had the Brown Stew Chicken. Been 6 weeks since we had good Caribbean food in Miami. This place was so good. We got curry chicken, brown stew, rice and peas,... collard greens, plantains, and curry chicken patties. Everything was delicious and fresh. Wish we could bring the whole storehome with us to Miami. Yummy! Read more
Let me say this when I saw the pictures, it was of the take oit location, and that it what I was expecting, shocker that is the... other location "they have 2" but the restaurant is really nice and upscale. Now on with the food, it was wonderful. Even thepictures show how fresh the salad was and the chicken and rice was great as well. I will be going back amd will be saving roomfor dessert because the rum cake sounds delicious. Read more
