For seafood Liberty Road Seafood and Stake can not be beat. The service, selection, quality, and price is well worth it.
Very good seafood, but not Baltimore. The shrimp were on the ok side. The crabs were good. However, their legs were pretty... dried out. Then again, it was a slow day, so I imagine it's probably difficult to guesstimate the traffic on a Monday.Nevertheless, I got the all you can eat and I ate a good bit of food and enjoyed it. Service was fast and good. Overall a greatplace, but you can't expect Baltimore when you're in Frederick. Read more
I reluctant to leave this review.. especially because the costumer service here certainly meets the needs! However I feel... robbed!!! :( let me start by saying I am from Baltimore, granted Maryland seafood/crabs will never compare.. furthermore thisis my second attempt at this resturaunt the first time my crabs were kinda light & barley seasoned however they are locatedconveniently 4 min down the road.. the way gas prices are & being a crab eater almost everyday.. sounded like a win win! Nope!!!I call the restaurant to place a 1/2 dozen order.. (I usually can not eat more then that in one setting) the lady on the phone,very nice says one dozen of Med Males will be 65$ a doz? Not to bad.. I order a half dozen. I walk in to pick up my order.. paidand tipped the resturaunt.. I get in the car & upon checking the receipt I notice I?m charged 35$ for half of a dozen, half of65$ Is 32.50$ ??now I?m not sure why I was charged more then half the price of a dozen so I called the restaurant and asked whythis happened and it was explained there half doz prices are not always the same.. huh?!! She repeated, their crabs do notalways equal to half of what a dozen is priced.. ok ma?am duly noted!! So I?m over charged.. I tip you all & yet I get home toeat my crabs that has exactly 6 crabs in the bag!! No room for duds or mushy crabs.. shucks even super light ones :/ 6 crabsexactly! No legs thrown in nothing!! Sort of disappointing.. I begin with the first crab.. very mushy.. the second.. super lightI believe the legs had more meat in that one.. ok prayers now.. on to the 3rd crab, I crack that boy open in hopes for a winner!Nope!!! We went to celebrate a friend's birthday, The place was very cozy, the service was very attentive, but the waiting time for the... food, in my opinion, was quite long, The wings are delicious, the ribs were tender and the seafood did not feel much flavor oras I saw in the photos all that seasoning that called my attention so much. Second time here and this place is awesome. Broiled Seafood platter and Jumbo Crabs were unbelievable. We had same sever Hillary... both times and she is the most friendly and gave the best service I had in a long time. We will be back soon Read more
Having lived in Maryland all my life; and having frequented more crab houses than anyone really should...Liberty Road Seafood... and Steak has without a doubt the best Maryland, PERIOD. There were no duds in the 1/2 bushel (large/XL) and they were sizeable(much larger than the jumbos at other places). To be safe, we purchased an extra dozen (jumbos) and they were like Alaskan KingCrab sized; literally the biggest blue crabs I've ever seen. Both batches were PERFECTLY SEASONED, meaty, tender, and tasty. The restaurant was open, plenty of lighting and very tidy. The customers were diverse and friendly. The staff was courteous,efficient and treated you with a smile. It was a flawless performance all around. I have NO DOUBT that all my future MarylandCrab dinners will come from Liberty Road Seafood and Steak. Thank you for being so great. P.S. The food and crabs here were absolutely beyond phenomenal. Girls trip to NOLA canceled took a road trip and visited Liberty... Road Seafood. Crabs seasoned well food nice portions, hot, tasty. I sware they have all the grandma's back there cooking. Stafwas friendly and kept your table filled with whatever you wanted. I rarely write reviews, but feel I need to inform people who are new to the Frederick area. We just ate dinner here for the... first time last night after hearing some rave reviews. If you only want to pound an endless mountain crab legs and get a*fabulous* bowl of cream of crab soup, this is your place. If you want anything else, don?t go. We split a large seafood platter, and the shrimp and lobster were over-cooked and inedible.This is definitely not the place for a quiet, romantic mealand we should?ve known better! We had reservations for two and were put in the noisiest dining room filled with very largegroups. Very slow getting any service at first, then the wrong food was brought to us. The server was fine after we received ourcorrect food. The bill was well over$100 including the tip. Maybe they were under-staffed as are many places, but this was not agood experience. If friends visit and they want a crab-pounding experience, we?ll go to Avery?s. Read more
