1/2# burgers made your way. Yes, I start with that because I love a good burger. Their bacon is thick. Lots of additions offered... for toppings so you're bound to find what you're craving. WI cheese curds. I'm from WI... Not bad! Served with ranch, just likeup North. Located just off Main Street on a side street. Can get busy at times. Will have live music. Indoor seating only. Very good I got the chicken fried steak which I liked how they had a option for a smaller portion of it versus getting a huge... plate sized steak. It was would worth the price even if it was a bit pricey... would eat Here again!! Great waitstaff as well Read more
First time here staff was friendly but service was slow just to get our drink order over 10 min. But once we got service they... were prompt to asking if we needed anything. Had the burger have to say it's enough for two and it was good. Fries were okaynothing to them. My girl had the country fried steak was not all that lack in flavor. Onion rings were good. Would go back totry something different, do recommend the burger and onion rings. Read more
Our server Neal was soooo friendly and welcoming!!! I was really excited after seeing such good reviews and pics on Google, but... honestly this place fell short for us. We unfortunately were not super impressed with the food. Their claim to fame was the hugechicken fried steak they have and we were sold. However, it was not all that in flavor... Size yes, but not flavor. I thinkit was the cook's preparation of the food bc when my husband sent his side of potatoes and onions back, the server agreed thatthey were not well made. He replaced it with a baked potato that was hot, fresh, and well loaded! My chicken was, justchicken... No seasoning whatsoever. The vegetables were cooked well, but again no seasoning. My husband said the rolls wererock hard. Would we return? Probably for apps, salads, or a quick burger, but I wouldn't waste money on any specialty dishes(such as chicken fried steak, steaks, etc.) here. Read more
This place has the absolute best chicken fried steak(gourmet) I have ever eaten. The only drawback is it was large enough for... two people. If I had known what I was getting myself into, I would have gotten two plates and split it with the Mrs. None theless it was delicious and cooked perfectly. We had some topnotch onion rings for an appetizer. Definitely recommend stopping infor a bite. Read more
The Hitchin' Post is one of those small restaurants that produce big flavor comfort food. We ordered two steaks with sides,... Fried green tomatoes, cheese curds and topped it off with peanut butter chocolate cake! The staff was great and the steaks werereally good and tender, not overly seasoned. The garlic cheese curds were good. So when your on Fredericksburg go to theHitchin' Post and get great service and great food! Read more
My wife and I enjoyed a birthday dinner. Pictured is the house steak with fried okra. Steak was cooked and seasoned just right.... The best fried okra I have ever had. Potatoes and onions were good. She loved the steak tips with sauteed onions and mushrooms.Not a fancy place but great service and food! Read more
Little hidden gem. I did not expect the food to taste so good. I was judging the place (sorry). It looks like your regular small... town bar but the food has a big city taste. Super impressed. Only thing is I ordered my steak medium well and it came out moremedium. It was red inside...not even pink. Read more
