With a dining room illuminated by white garage lighting, decorated with mismatched antiques and filled with the sounds of bossa... nova, you may not feel like you?re in a Mexican restaurant, but maybe that?s part of the charm. We had friendly service, but ourfood was as strangely curated as the antiques. The fish tacos ($17) missed every mark: unsalted fish, boring sauces, shreddedlettuce reminiscent of a cafeteria, cold tortillas. The ceviche, finely diced with filler vegetables like carrot and tomato (asone might find in Colima, on the Western coast), was okay, but nothing special for $16. If you?re visiting from Austin or SanAntonio, you?ll likely be disappointed. If you dabble in bland Mexican ? and no shame in that! ? you might enjoy Nury?s. Read more
Wow! Just Wow!! First time at Nury's on Main and we were totally impressed! Not only was our server awesome and on it but the... food is simply amazing!! We had the shrimp ceviche, shrimp dynamite and fish tacos and it was all amazing! Fresh, fresh,fresh!! The quality of the food speaks for itself!! We will for sure be back!! Read more
Cute restaurant with friendly staff and good food. We enjoyed the cochinita pibil for dinner with my wife and I splitting the... dish and still having plenty to eat. They do charge a $2 fee for sharing, but both plates came with plenty of sides and insteadof 3 tortillas, we got 4. So that's worth the $2 considering some restaurants just hand you a second empty plate when splittinga meal. We also had the corn on the cob appetizer and the way it's prepared makes it very tasty, but the cost was a bit highfor how much you receive. Definitely a five star on tastes. Everything tasted fresh and home made. They use a lot of delicious sauces. The ceviche was... very savory. The street tacos were stuffed with quality steak and topped with a good sauce. The Cochinita Pibil was very goodand even the beans and rice that came with it. Nury?s is delightful! We have eaten at several places off Main Street in Fredericksburg, and while some places are better than... others, we usually kind of feel ?meh? about most of them! We went into Nury?s, and we were immediately greeted with a friendlyhostess. Our waiter was attentive without hovering. We ended up ordering the Dynamite Shrimp (appetizer) and Street Tacos(pork), and oh my goodness, they were both delicious! We live in Houston and have eaten our share of good food, and this isright up there with the best of them! Reasonably priced, really good service, and delicious food with a beautiful presentation! This place was horrible. My sister had the $28 seafood stack. It was mainly avocados and cucumbers with three shrimp on the top.... Right below that was canned crabmeat that looked like cat food, as you can see in the picture. I had "hand breaded" coconutshrimp. When the plate came out I knew immediately they were nothing more than frozen shrimp that were so over cooked and hadZERO taste. My neice had shrimp tacos, they were just okay. Pretty sad when the best thing on our table were the French fries.Never again!!!! Read more
