The best food Chinese… Exelent service thank you
Hard to find a good Chinese takeout here...but we did! Had a special order leaving out certain distasteful veggies and they,... well, got it half right. The quality and quantity of the food entirely made up for their mistake which I will emphasize on mynext order. Yes, we will definitely order from them again which we won't say for any other Chinese restaurant in the area. This is it. It's a bonus that the owner is a lovely person, completely friendly, likeable and personable....see if you can findthat elsewhere. Our new favorite for Chinese takeout. Normally we have a good experience with Formosa and I would give it 4-5 stars. Very tasty food! I’m giving 3 stars because the... last few times we’ve ordered, items have been missing or incorrect. We even tried to make it easier by ordering online wherethe choices are very clear (type of rice you want with dish, spice level, etc) but even with that, the last order we gotcontained things that we couldn’t eat (we ordered brown rice with our entrees but they sent fried rice with egg), the spicelevel on a spicy dish was mild when we asked for some extra heat, and it was missing the one thing my kid eats. Although I willsay they do respond quickly if you call them, we just hit that point where we don’t want to have to do that each time we orderanymore. We moved to the Leavells area just before the pandemic went into full swing. This is one of the closest places and we've been... ordering from them and have never had a bad experience! We've ordered from a few other Chinese places and Formosa beats them allhands down for taste and value. The staff is nice and the food is great! Kung Pao chicken is my go to! Always excellent! Mondaysmake me sad because they're closed, but makes Tuesdays more exciting lol. Read more
Beware if you order online they wont get your order, apparently only the managers specific computer get the order info??? Yet... you get confirmation that even says “no need to call rest assure we have confirmed your order”. We’ve been waiting over anhour an a half, when we call the lady that answers says she cant assist because she cant see any online orders and the manageris busy on another call. No idea how the food is, not even sure if it will ever show up. Read more
Had a great takeout lunch from this place today! Man at the counter was helpful and friendly and with our lunch being of... generous portion and delicious flavors, would recommend that you try this place. Larger family orders offer coupons foradditional menu items. Who couldn't use an extra bowl of General Tso's chicken? Read more
Very, very disappointed!! Dinner arrived 1 hr and 25 minutes after ordering ( we are minutes away from them). Than the chicken... was rubbery. The spring rolls were old and nasty, so was the egg roll. There was no sauce ( gravy). However the broccoli wasgood and so was the rice. No complaints there. Prices are also good. Read more
Formosa Cafe was ourgo to Chinese restaurant since moving to the burg in 2003. We typically spend over $60 per order and have... always been happy with the food. We ordered food about 2 months ago through Beyond Menu. Saw through different online ordersites that menu varied slightly (annoying). The worst part of our experience was the food. It was not good at all. We orderedextra, extra spicy shrimp fried rice with $5 extra shrimp. For the first time, I could not eat the rest of it. It was tasteless.The rice didn't have the fresh taste and shrimp were soggy. My husband said it was under new management. I told him, I told himthey need to bring the old one to include the cook back. Now, we have to find a new Chinese restaurant. What a shame. SMH Read more
