The Diplomat is a terrific place to eat but since it is so popular, reservations are suggested. Very friendly servers, it has... the choice of spacious booths or tables. Buffets are offered at certain times and are a feast for the eyes as well as the body.A variety of delicious foods are available but the Chinese food is my favorite. Portions are large and this tastes likeauthentic Chinese cuisine. Thinking about the desserts, it is hard to choose but the variety of cheesecakes and other tastytreats greet you in a display case as you enter. This restaurant has the BEST charbroiled steaks in the city...by far. Oh there are other places that serve steaks, even some... that specialize in it, but none come close. The other item which is surprising for a Chinese restaurant is the Fish n Chips..its HUGE and delicious. As far as their Chinese food, it is a few dollars more then most places but the portions are alsoplentiful and well worth it. The servers are also the most experienced in the city and very friendly. Excellent attentive service and the absolute best Chinese food we've had in years. Breakfast is also wonderful.
Friendly staff and a lot of variety. They have an all day breakfast option, large lunch and dinner menu and a buffet... option. The food itself could have been a bit more flavourful compared to some of the other Chinese food spots around town. Theprice is also pretty average for the city. We had the buffet option and so got to sample much of the different dishes.Everything was cooked well and for $33 it's worth it, if like me, you eat a lot. Nice desserts too. Read more

On our first day in Fredericton, my wife and I were invited for a brunch at the Diplomat and we couldn't have asked for a better... welcoming present! The breakfast is simply delicious! All staff members were great at their jobs, treated us wonderfully and theprices were fair. It's not a mystery why this is a classic and traditional place in Fredericton.
